Donghae came out of the shower, freshly showered, with his towel draped unceremoniously over his broad shoulders. He noticed Hyukjae sitting on the couch in the living room and decided to join him. Throwing his wet towel to the floor, Donghae sneakily climbed into Hyukjae’s lap with a wide grin on his face.

“Hi, Hyukkie!” Donghae giggled and placed a kiss on the elder’s face. “Whatcha doing?”

Hyukjae, on the other hand, looked distracted and didn’t even react when Donghae flicked his wet hair in the other’s face, attempting to get some attention. “Yah, pay attention to meeeeeeee.”

Donghae’s eyes trailed to Hyukjae’s hands, whose fingers were busy scrolling and refreshing the elder’s Instagram home page. Thousands of likes and comments were coming in by the second, but Hyukjae still looked somewhat dissatisfied. Perhaps angry, even.

Out of boredom, Donghae began double-tapping on every photo Hyukjae scrolled through. Hyukjae finally seemed to come to his senses and yelled at Donghae when the fan comments started going haywire at the notion of their idol liking their random Instagram photos.

“Donghae! Now I gotta un-like all the photos and the fans will be so disappointed!”

Donghae pouted and pushed his face between Hyukjae’s and the phone, coming closer until their lips barely touched.

“At least I got you to pay attention to me,” Donghae said, grinning as he lightly pecked the soft lips he had been dreaming about for the past year and nine months. “Why were you frowning at the screen?” He took a peek at the picture Hyukjae zoomed in on and giggled. “Whoa, a hundred and eighty thousand likes not enough for you? Are you jealous that I get at least four hundred thousand likes for most of my Instagram pictures?”

Hyukjae smiled and pecked Donghae on the cheek. “Maybe I am,” he joked, then sighed again. “Look at this photo. Read what it says.”

Donghae took a closer look at the photo and saw that it was one of the banners from fans that had welcomed Hyukjae back from the military. “’We never cut our hair after all’? What… oh. That.” Donghae laughed and handed Hyukjae back his phone. “You’re mad that the fans didn’t shave their heads after all?”

Hyukjae sighed softly and put his phone away. “I know, it’s stupid of me to want them to shave. But they promised…” He ran his fingers through his short hair and sighed again. “I knew they were joking, though I never really thought they would do it anyway… I’m just a little disappointed, I guess. I bet you can tell how conflicted I feel. Maybe they just weren’t big fans enough?”

Donghae shushed the elder and smiled. “Don’t say that. They were only just pulling your leg. It’s a wonder that the joke lasted for such a long time,” he laughed. “Cunning little ELFs.”

“Do you think… do you think the male fans would have at least shaved their heads even if the fangirls didn’t?” Hyukjae asked, trying not to lose hope. “I mean, if I could do it, then they could, too. There should be guys who are fans enough to do that for me… right? Donghae?”

Donghae tilted his head and stared into the elder’s sad eyes. “I know someone who shaved his head and is a huge fan of yours, too. I bet you know him too.”

Hyukjae’s eyes brightened for a bit. “You do? Who is it?” Hyukjae thought for a while and frowned. “Wait, you’re not talking about that weird stalker guy that used to come to all of our shows and fan meetings and stuff, right? Did he shave his head for me?”

“Hmm, maybe he did, but I don’t know for sure,” Donghae replied with an evil twinkle in his eyes.
