Donghae crawled out from under the kitchen table and cursed when he accidentally bumped his head onto the wood. “Oof!! Who hit me in the head?” he exclaimed, rubbing his sore spot.

The brunette finally emerged from under the table and walked slowly into the living hall, crouching down every two seconds to check the floor or behind the furniture. Once he reached the middle of the room, he dropped to his knees again and crawled about, thinking that he saw what he was looking for under the largest and heaviest couch. Problem was, he couldn’t possibly move the couch much less lift it up to retrieve what he thought was lying on the floor underneath. It never occurred to the airheaded brunette that he could have jolly well fetched a broomstick from the cabinet to sweep it out as he flattened himself against the floor and attempted to inch his way under the couch.

“I’m skinny I’m skinny I’m skinny I’m skinny…” he chanted, pressing his face flat against the polished floor, moving towards the object like an awkward slug. At one point his blessed assets got stuck and he struggled to move, only succeeding however in scratching his knuckles against the rough wood on the underside of the couch and he would like to think that he did not just get a splinter in his .

After what seemed like ages Donghae finally reached the object lying innocently on the ground. He snatched at it, only to huff in annoyance when it disintegrated in his hands. “A freaking dust bunny, are you kidding me?? Where oh where can you possibly be…??” he wailed, well and truly stuck between the couch and the floor.

“Hae, I’m home!”

Hyukjae closed the door behind him and hung his coat on the coat hanger, loosening his tie on the way in. Thinking that maybe Donghae was in the shower that he couldn’t hear him return, Hyukjae walked towards the living hall and was prepared to flop onto the biggest couch when a frightened shriek sounded from the floor.

“DON’T SIT!!”

Startled, the blonde got down to his knees and crouched down to see his brunette husband wedged uncomfortably under the couch with a pouty look on his face.

“Uhm, hello down there?” Hyukjae greeted uncertainly, not sure if Donghae was playing games with him or what not. “What are you doing?”

“Playing hide-n-seek, what does it look like I’m doing?” came the gruff reply, shaping Hyukjae’s lips into an ‘O’.

“Well I’ve found you, so you can come out of your hiding place now,” the blonde simply stated with a chuckle. “Or are you stuck?”

Donghae rolled his eyes in exasperation. “Hyuk, honey, if I could come out by myself, I would have done that a long time ago and not lay here for the past twenty minutes like a disabled snail. My stupid is stuck.”

“You have a beautiful ,” Hyukjae teased. “It’s not stupid. I love it.”

The younger brunette mentally facepalmed and tried his best to wriggle out of the uncomfortable position seeing how useless his husband was, but unfortunately his was really stuck. He whined in pain when he felt the splinter dig deeper into his left cheek and stopped moving altogether.

“ Hae, you’re really stuck, aren’t you?” Hyukjae asked, starting to get concerned. He tried his hand at lifting the couch and managed to do so by a tiny fraction of an inch.

“No , Sherlock,” Donghae mumbled, face eating dust bunnies as he spoke. “Ugh. Remind me to vacuum more often under these couches when I get out, Hyuk.”

“Mind telling me what the heck were you doing down there? I’m pretty sure the dust fishies didn’t taste good.”

“I hate dust bunnies.”

Donghae let out a moan when his husband finally plucked out the wooden splinter from his , after uncountable times of merely pinching skin and drawing blood (and making Donghae yell countless times). Hyukjae then draped a towel over the and gave it a light slap as he stood up.

“Come on, get up. We’re going out to eat today. I’ll go shower first, okay?” Hyukjae casually undressed in front of the younger before winding another towel around his waist. He gave Donghae’s pouty face a light peck before stepping into the bathroom. “Love you, babe.”

As soon as the shower was , Donghae quickly leapt to his feet, winced a little at the slight sting still on his , and crouched down under the bed. That was the only place he hadn’t searched yet, and he prayed very hard that he would be able to find the missing object there. He lifted the covers and dived under the bedframe, thankful that the space underneath their king-sized bed was larger so he wouldn’t get stuck in the middle. After combing through the entire floor, Donghae was ready to cry; he really lost it and had no idea where it could be. That one thing that may seem insignificant to some, but it held a great deal of treasured memories within for him.

“Still playing hide-n-seek with yourself?”

Hyukjae was amused to find his little husband under furniture again. Donghae poked his head from under the bed, his messy flop of hair covered in smaller dust bunnies making Hyukjae grimace.

“You really need to shower. What are you looking for, actually?”

Donghae bit his lips and forced a smile. “I wasn’t looking for anything. Really,” he added, when Hyukjae looked skeptical. He tried changing the topic. “I think I’d better vacuum the floor again.”

“Do that later. Now go shower,” Hyukjae said nonchalantly, drying his wet hair with the towel and looking so y all Donghae wanted to do was kiss every expanse of skin he could feast his eyes on. “Dress nicely, okay? We’re going somewhere
