Prologue
Twelve Days to The New YearLuhan paced around nervously in his gypsy caravan as he awaited a knock on his door, which would signal the start of his wedding. His heart raced at the thought of spending the rest of his life with his best friend, boyfriend- fiancé, Xiumin. "I just cant believe how lucky I am." He mumbled as he smiled to himself. "It's time, Luhan!" His mother chirped as she opened the door ,"I hope you're ready."
He looked into the mirror and with one last sigh, adjusted his bow tie before taking his mother's arm and leaving the caravan. While he descended down the steps from the parking lot to the beach, he watched the sun set in the distance and let out a small smile. It had finally dawned on Luhan- today was the day he had been waiting for for six months. He was finally marrying the guy of his dreams, the one who had always been there for him during his darkest and happiest times.
Once Luhan entered the wedding tent, it seemed as if time had stopped and the only person he could see was Xiumin. All eyes were on him, including their best friend's, Kris. His cheeks turned a light shade of red as he continued walking down the aisle to the small stage where his soon-to-be husband was waiting.
As soon as their vows had been taken, they signed the certificate of marriage that was going to be the proof of their everlasting love, with Kris as their witness. Before they had a chance to soak in the ambience, the wedding had to come to an end.
With every passing day, Luhan and Xiumin fell more and more in love with each other. It didn't matter how busy they were, because they were always going to make time for each other. Sometimes Kris would invite them over for movie night at his place or for a soccer game with his buddies whenever he was free.
All of them were practically living an almost perfect life- until Xiumin's health started to deteriorate day by day.
