The Woodcutter, The Wolf And The Grandpa
A Twist To TalesTHE WOODCUTTER, THE WOLF AND THE GRANDPA
Little Red Riding Hyukjae skipped down the stairs, his red hair flying as he jumped the last two steps, smiling at his mother and father. He bounced over to the breakfast table, kissing his father on the cheek and then passing him to go kiss his mother as well.
“Good morning Appa. Good morning umma.”
Echo’s of good morning come back to him and he smiled widely as he settled down on his chair before eyeing the strawberry waffles his mother had just plated out. He drooled at the steam rising from the warm pastry and from the way the maroon strawberry syrup wove its way around the indentations on the surface, snaking and gliding, melting as it ran over the warmth. His eyes did not leave the plate until it reached the table and was set in front of him. It look him just a second to grab the fork and snagging a whole waffle and stuffing it inside his mouth, only to howl a second later that it was too hot!
“You should learn by now to at least wait a little Hyukkie.”
“Buth iths hummy…” But It’s yummy.
His father rolled his eyes and his mother giggled at the adorable boy, chubby cheeks puffed out making him look a lot like a chipmunk and red hair flowing over his eyes as he tried to blow it away with a full mouth.
They were just finishing breakfast when Hyukjae’s mother placed a neatly packed parcel in front of him, “Baby Hyukkie. Can you go give this to grandpa Siwon before you go off to play? I baked cookies and I thought he might like some.”
“But Umma~~~~~ He’s weird. He likes to touch me in weird places.”
“He just likes you baby. Since my baby is so cute and adorable.” His mother cooed as she pinched his cheeks.
“Umma….he isn’t even my grandfather. Why must we give him stuff?”
“Baby, you know that he lives alone and he doesn’t have any other family. We all give him stuff so that he can look after himself and not starve. You like being kind to people don’t you baby?”
“Yes….but he’s really weird….” Hyukjae pouted
“I know baby. Just go drop this at his place and then you can go play with your friends, okay?”
“….okay”
**~***~***~***~***~***~**
Hyukjae pranced out of his house, red jacket on and grandpa Siwon’s parcel in hand. He shut the gate behind him, running head onto Donghae, an axe in hand and an innocent smile, “Hi Hyukkie~~~~”
“Hi Hae~~~~”
“Are you going somewhere?”
‘Yes..umma wants me to go give this to grandpa Siwon and then I’m going to go play in the woods.” A small blush crept up Hyukjae’s cheeks, tinting it with a pretty light pink flush.
“Ahh...Okay. Be careful neh? Grandpa Siwon is weird. He likes to touch me in weird places.”
“That’s what I told umma!!!”
“Anyways I have to go cut some wood and then maybe I’ll come play with you afterwards. By Hyukkie~~~” Donghae skipped away, axe and all.
Hyukjae shrugged his shoulders at the randomness of his best friend and instead went towards the woods that surrounded his and Donghae’s house. He had to pass the little patch of trees to get to the houses on the other side, one of which was the weird grandpa’s. He had just passed the corner when he was pounced on, his only warning a wolfi
