The genuine smiles crept along our faces illuminated from the clear transparent waters had proven the vivid one-sided affection that I have been hiding from the fair lady next to me.

“Your smile has always been fascinating me.” I commented in between the silence looming between us.

“Thank you.” Her smile grew in both corners of her lips as a faint blush radiated from her cheeks.

The smile, not leaving my face, evened hers out. “Your reddened self is better though.” My mind spoke on my lips behalf.

A long pause had she made before I heard her query with her facing me, “Are you smiling?”

I could tell that she is trying to study my face out as I then turned to face her. “Yes.” An honest answer I gave. My hand had gently reached hers while I curl her fingers into a ball of fist with her forefinger pointing. I let her gentle touch trace my lips from one corner to the other before she slowly drew her hand back.

“It fascinates me.” Her dimples slinked against her cheekbones before I noticed that her smile somewhat turned into a saddened one.  I could feel both the truthfulness from her utterance and the melancholic tone of her smile.

I was about to divert the topic into something else but the soft sigh escaped from her lips had distracted me as, then, she had proceeded. “If only I could see it..”
