“Bwoh!! Yah! Why would you do that?!” yelled Baro in a shaky voice the next day at their dorm as they sat on the couch.

“We wanted to surprise you?” said Gongchan.

“Our dorm is a mess, I look horrible and you invite Maura here??” Baro said freaking out. The ‘celebration’ was just supposed to be a cake and fun with the members. Then Gongchan and Sandeul dump the news on poor Baro. When Sandeul went back to Maura’s office, he invited her to the dorm to join them since she helped them a lot plus she was around their age. He gave her his number to tell him if she still wanted to go today.

“She called me about 10 minutes ago and said she wanted to come. She’ll be here soon,” Sandeul said with a smile.

“Soon?? Aish!” Baro said in frustration.

“Hyung, you wanna know why we did this?” asked Gongchan.

“Because you hate me and want to embarrass me?” said Baro. The maknae shook his head and smiled at his hyung.

“Aniyo. We know you like her, hyung. And we also know that she likes you,” said Gongchan with his arms out as if it was a surprise. Baro stopped freaking out for a second and listened to what they had to say.

"Wait...what?” Sandeul sighed with a hopeless smile

"Aish, you never listen," Sandeul  said as he walked away to the kitchen. He came back and shoved the page from Maura’s notebook in Baro’s face.

“Take a look at it, a close look at your drawing,” Sandeul instructed. Baro took a the note in his hands and looked at the drawing.

    He couldn’t help but chuckle. He didn’t see them before. There were small hearts around his name and the drawing of himself. On top of that, Baro could see that in a small corner of the page there was Baro’s real name, Cha Sun Woo, in a heart and it was erased quickly. Baro’s cheeks filled with color and a smile formed on his face. He looked around to see s surrounding him looking at the page.

“Aww,” said CNU, shaking Baro cutely. “She likes you, Baro-ah.” Baro’s cheeks began to heat up.

“Aww kyeopta,” Sandeul said pinching his cheeks. There was a ring of the doorbell and Baro’s heart sank. She’s here. The members were silent for a minute, looking at what Baro would do. He sprang up and ran to the door, took a deep breath and gave his toothy smile to Maura.

“Hi Maura come in,” he said and let her in. She came in with a bouquet of flowers as she bowed to the members. She handed the flowers to Jinyoung.

“This is for your comeback. Chukahae,” she said smiling sweetly. Baro smiled when she did. Jinyoung thanked her and set them down on the table by the couch. They sat there and ate the cake that CNU had bought earlier. They all told funny stories and had fun as the TV rolled on in the background. Everytime she would smile or giggle, Baro’s heart would jump. She’s so beautiful, he thought. How could she like me? Why me and not another?

    Suddenly Jinyoung yawned, covering his mouth and getting up slowly.

“Ah, I’m tired. I’m going to go lay down for a while. Don’t leave Maura,” he said as she started to get up. “Keep the others company. We don’t get days like this often.” Maura nodded and sat back down slowly. CNU rose too.

“I’m going to go out for snacks. Baro eats them way too often,” he said smiling and giving Baro’s arm a squeeze of encouragement as he headed to his room to get his coat.

“Oh hyung, take me with you!” jumped Gongchan catching up to him. Sandeul, Baro and Maura stayed longer.

“Sandeul oppa, why do you keep looking at Baro oppa like that?” Maura asked him. Sandeul stopped trying to urge Baro to confess and smiled at Maura.

“Uh, it’s because Baro-ah hasn’t said much. I’m wondering if he’s sick.”

"Oppa, you're sick?" Maura sat closer to Baro, putting her hand on his forehead. Their closeness scared them both, their hearts beat harder. Sandeul saw this moment to slip away. He went behind the corner of the wall to watch and saw the other members trying to sneak a peek at the confession. They all tried to move without any sound to get a good angle of Baro & Maura.

    Maura still had her hand on his forehead and look away from Baro’s eyes. She was afraid she’d get lost in them. He followed her gaze and smiled sweetly.

“Yeppeo. Your eyes, they’re pretty,” he said hoping he was starting out ok. Maura’s cheeks flushed a deep red.

    “Gomawoyo oppa.” He took her hand that was on his forehead and put it down slowly.

“Gwenchana,” he said chuckling. “My voice is ok.” She looked at him questioningly.

“Hmm, prove it.” He smiled and nodded, “Ok. I’ll prove two things to you right now.”  He cleared his throat, took a deep breath and began to rap to her:

Diamond – my dazzling diamond girl

Oh what’s wrong with me?

No other girls come into my eyes

I think it’s broken – my heart is all burned up

Hold my hand

He reached a hand toward the bouquet that was on the table in front of them. He took one of the roses and handed it to Maura, who took it shyly as she listened to his beautiful deep voice. He continued:

The time is going tic toc tic toc

Can’t live without you, I talk to you

“That was beautiful oppa,” she said clapping softly. Baro smiled and cleared his throat.

“Maura, did you know that I always wanted to go this for you. I just had the courage to do it now.”

“H-How?” she struggled to say. Her heart pounded against her chest. He took the page that the members were surrounded around earlier. He showed it to her. She took it and looked at her drawings, taking notice of her doodles at the bottom of the page. She covered her face as she giggled.

“Oh my God, that’s embarrassing,” she said, her face in her hands.

    He took one of the hands on her face into his. At this moment, Maura slowly lifted her head to meet his eyes.

“Maura, do you like me?” She couldn’t deny it anymore, not after Baro saw those drawings. She nodded looking away from him. She couldn’t look at him. He doesn’t like me back, Maura thought sadly. He’s going to reject me and let me down easily. Be prepared, she told herself as she braced for it.

“I like you too. Maura-yah,” Baro said moving her face to look at his. Her heart stopped for a quick second. Did she hear correctly?

“Eh? Oppa?” He smiled with his two front teeth showing cutely and nodded.

“I like you too. Ever since we first met,” he said proudly, with a hint of pink in his cheeks.

    Maura couldn’t help but smile as she squeezed Baro’s hand that gently held hers. He slowly pulled her in for a hug. His presence felt warm and safe. He held her tightly, proud of himself for finally getting that off his chest.

“Maura- yah,” he said against her soft hair that smelled of strawberries.

“Hm?”

“You interrupted my rap before, you know? I never finished,” he said with a chuckle

“Finish then.”

“Arrasseo. But listen closely and answer,” he paused clearing his throat again. He saw the confused look on her face but it would be answered soon. He rapped to her once again:

The time goes tic toc tic toc

I’m a little shy, but I hide my trembling eyes

I think I just found my love

Will you be mine?

Maura stared at Baro as he waited anxiously for her answer.

“I’d love to,” she said simply with the sweet smile. Baro, who biting his bottom lip, let out a sigh of relief. He leaned in after a moment of awkward silence and kissed her cheek with the biggest grin.

“Woo!!” yelled Sandeul as he and the other members came from their hiding spot.

“YAH! You were spying on us?!” yelled Baro.

“Aww, you two are so cute together,” teased Gongchan. Baro couldn’t stay mad at s, it was because of them that he could do this. He smiled and put his arm around Maura. Gongchan, Jinyoung, CNU, and  Sandeul sat back down to continue their celebration. A celebration of B1A4 and new love. It was true, they were cute together. They were together, finally.
