Pandora's Heart
Description
Light and Shadow.
That's what Hana and Yixing are.
Hana's the light that's oblivious to the shadow following her.
Yixing's the shadow that can't exist without the light.
Foreword
Prologue
His body was frail und feeble. His soul - immortal.
A Time Keeper, born as a debilitated human being to fulfill that simple task. The task of imperceptibly shadowing the ‘enemy’ and heartlessly erasing it from this world - not leaving behind a single trace of evidence that could hint at the flawless crime.
Yixing was a perfectionist, or so he thought of himself. Everything had to go the way he had thoroughly planned, no one was permitted to interfere. That was the exquisite art and purpose of his life. Together with the other Time Keepers, he functioned to prevent the world’s collapse. Yet the prospect of seeing the innocent silhouette of Hana dying right before his glistening eyes was triggering bolts of pain to pierce through his heart.
He knew everything about her. Every single habit. Every single complex. Every preference and every desire. Every corner of her personality and every visible inch of her body, be it ever so small. If he were to major in a class all about her, he would ace it without even the tiniest mistake.
But as she is only fractions of seconds away from being absorbed by the black hole we call death, she finally meets his yearning stare.
For the first time in 20 years their eyes lock.
