Trailer Tutorial: Font
❝ᶠᴿᴱᴬᴷ❞ Trailer Resources, Tutorials, & PortfolioFONT
Let's start with the font...
I know that some people will try using fancy fonts for example:
They look nice and all, but they don't fit trailers. Well, some of these could work as a title... possibly.
But from the trailers I've seen so far, they don't usually have these kind of fonts.
They're usually very simple... For example:
WILL THEY RISK IT?
ONLY ONE CHANCE
NEVER ENOUGH
LOVE AND HATE
These are all fonts from what AFF provides. Very simple & readable.
Fonts do differ depending on genres, but not drastically.
A couple of fonts that I like to use include:
Plantagenet Cherokee
Death Note Main
Universal Accreditation
SteelTongs
Trajan Pro
Supernatural Knight
MS PGothic
Times New Roman
Neou (OT1)
Just experiment with whatever font works for you best.
What to do with fonts:
- Keep your fonts constant. (Don't change fonts throughout the video. Once or twice is okay, if it's for credit, title or something like that.)
- Make sure it's readable
- Match your genre.
- Don't use colorful colors. Just black and white, or a gradient effect at the least. (Unless you can somehow pull it off and have it match the trailer... go for it)
A/N If you want me to go into more detail or you have a trailer tutorial you want to see, comment below!
I'm not very good at posters, so I can't really teach about it. But I know there's a lot of poster tutorials out there, so you're better off looking at their tutorials.
Thanks for reading!
