THIS TUTORIAL TOOK SO LONG LIKE ASDFGHJKL.

So there was a request from a friend saying that she wanted a tutorial on one of my animated posters, Fateful Promise. I don't really like making tutorials for animated posters and also because, I don't think my posters are on the level where I could actually teach others o.o Seriously.

But anyway, since it was a request, I thought I'd give a shot on teaching for once. ♥

This tutorial will be for this poster.

(I'm sorry I can't provide the resources I've worked with for this poster but this poster was made a year ago and I can't really remember so I apologize. Maybe you could use similar stocks to recreate your own ^^)

1. Open up a blank canvas; 424 x 600.

2. Place the photo of Kai by the right. (Make sure there's space for the female)

 

3. Apply a layer mask and start erasing the bottom half, leaving him just by his waist line because we'll be placing a stock there. Proceed to erase part of his head on the top to blend it in well.

4. Place the female picture beside Kai's and there should be enough space for her.

 

5. Just like Kai's picture, apply a layer mask and proceed to erase the parts of her picture to show Kai's (beautiful) face.

 

6. Next we'll put in a stock-like texture with this purple-ish color.

 

7. Set the layer to Multiply.



 

8. Now apply a layer mask and erase the middle where it'll make Kai and the female's face come to view.

9. Next, put over a bokeh stock on the upper part of the poster.

10.  Set the layer to Soft Light.

11. Just like the first texture, apply a layer mask and erase parts of the bokeh that covers/ruins Kai or the female's face.

12. Next, place another bokeh texture but this one, is blank and white to accomodate to Kai and the female's original color. 

13. Apply a layer mask and erase certain parts (especially around Kai's face to make it more visible without anything on top).

14. Lay over a gradient that starts from the left to right. Any gradient works fine as long as the shades are jus
