Foreword
Kyungsoo is a mermaid, the prince of the sea and the son of Tiffany, the underwater ocean queen. He lives, breathes, and survives in water. Every day, Kyungsoo spends his life exploring, wanting something more in his life than just to be trapped underwater, but he knows that if he steps one touch onto land only death would greet him.
Even so, Kyungsoo doesn’t hesitate to talk to his land friends on the shores. He talks to Baekhyun, the small fairy of Peter Pan and Yixing, the white rabbit of Alice. They tell him incredible stories of the land, the land that Kyungsoo is forbidden to step on.
Every of their tales amazes Kyungsoo, from the green grass to the palaces and princes of the land. He wants to go explore, he wants to meet the princes, especially Prince Jongin who often comes to the shore to view the ocean. While doing so, Kyungsoo would stare in awe at the Prince, admiring his charms and he’d admit that he is attracted to him.
Kyungsoo’s mother hates humans. She was a pleasing, beautiful mermaid of the ocean and she had loved her husband very much. His father was King Triton and was a great king of the ocean. He ruled supremely and every sea creature praised him. He had loved Kyungsoo and his mother very much as well, until he was murdered in a war with humans, causing the hatred Tiffany felt towards humans and why she declines her son’s pleads of exploring the land.
But the war was so many, many years ago, had Kyungsoo was not even been born yet. He finds humans a unique race and impatiently waits for the day that the ocean creatures and the land creatures will unite once again. He wants to meet Prince Jongin, to see him up close, to see how humans live, to see the color of his eyes, to see his love for him.
