"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?

"

Huh?"

His eyebrows lifted as he turned sideways to look at his best friend who in return gave him a bewildered look. They both turned around to see the new kid looking at Luhan expectedly. His name was Jongin but everyone would call him Kai since he prefered that nickname. Girls in the school kept following him because, evidently, he was handsome and rumor be true, a real gentleman. The real problem was :

What the hell did he just say?



"Umm, pardon me?"



They could see Kai breathing in and breathing out before he smiled in a flirty manner. Once again.



"I said , did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"



Next to him , he could hear Chanyeol snort and whisper softly for only his ears.



"Oh dear god he's serious"



The new guy in school, the new IT factor of their very cliché high school, the reason girls faint at the sight of him had just used one of the oldest pick up lines ever on him. Seriously, even cavemen used that one.

 It confused him greatly, the brunette couldn't wrap his head around it, why would he do that?  He furrowed his eyebrows.

Trying to be respectful and polite he asked .

 "Are you perhaps... "he cocked his head "Hitting on me?"

He could see the other boy lose his stance (wanna be cool fail posture, if Luhan might add). His face seemed to heat up and he stumbled on his feet.It was faint but still recognizable, which caused Yeol too coo softly at him .

"Umm,yeah, I am…"

                "Oh, oh"

 His eyes widened and he looked at him confused once again.Was this a joke? Was he trying to embarrass him? Or… maybe he was serious?                   He looked very serious, looking at the deer like student with so much hope.It was intimidating and slightly creepy.

         "Umm good luck with that, kid. See you later Channie." 

He left with hurried steps but before the older could completely be out of the youngers hearing range        he replied with a determined tone.

         "I won't need luck. I'll capture your heart , you just wait"

         As a smile formed on Luhan's face unknowingly .He couldn't help but think,creepy but he was a very,very interesting fellow.

          Scratch that he was not interesting.At all.

         "CHANYEOL HELP ME" He screamed as he sat down next to him in panic at the school canteen.

         "He follows me everywhere.Every where I go he's there , he's outside by the window when I am in the library or at the grocery store when were out of food or or even at the cafe on my work hours. My work hours, can you believe it ! And Yeollie." He said on the verge of panic "That's not the worst, it's the..."

       "Luhan hyung, do you have a band-aid? Cuz i scraped my knee falling for you."

       "…pick-up lines."

       He turned around to see Jongin smiling at him.It was a full and squinty eye smile.He looked so cute and handsome at that moment Luhan felt his heart beat twice faster then before. He couldn't understand it though because as far as he was concerned , Kai was a creep and a stalker.

       "So hyung , did you like that one? It was original, wasn't it ?Will you go on a date with me now?"

       A cute stalker.

       No. No. And no.

       Stalkers weren't cute.

       Well… this one was.

       He follows you everywhere, please you should call the cops on his or something.

       But he's only being determined , he can't be arrested for that.

       Oh god, you know that someone following you to your house and watching you bathe through your bathroom window is more than                           enough to get in jail.

       While he was having an internal battle he didn't see Kai's face fall or Chanyeol's slightly creeped out but pitiful face.But he was in fact able too see Jongin give himself a shake and put his game face on.

       Wow.

       That boy wouldn't budge. Although he would deny it until the day he died, he was happy too see him so tenacious and bent on the idea of going out with the brunette.It made him feel all giddy and liked.

       "Maybe that one wasn't quite right" He said a little glumly." But don't worry I have plenty more of them so, I'm not giving up yet baby." He added, eyes sparkling with mischief .

       "Umm okay then… imma just ,ya know…BYE"

He ran away before they could both reply , but this time it wasn't out of confusion.

 It was because of his heart and how it had reacted at Kai's  affectionate pet name. It had made his heart sore and it made him want to smile like an idiot. Why the hell was it happening? He couldn't be falling for… no, no… that couldn't be true. But somehow, as he ran to get away from the source of his                                   frustration, he knew denying it would only cause more trouble.

         It happened randomly, really. Swear to god or goddess or like whatever was upstairs in the spiritual world. He was just going to the computer room the school offered. He had a free period and he couldn't be amused by Chanyeol because the tall brat had math. It just so happened he past by the dancing studios and saw him. He was dancing so fluidly it was… majestic.

         He seemed to be moving with such ease it felt like it was second nature. Luhan couldn't help but approach the door without getting seen. He wanted to see more of this Jongin. The one with the y aura , the one who owned the floor ,the one who made you stop and stare.

         I wanted to see the Jongin everyone knew   about.The one that wasn't a love-sick puppy but somebody that could be serious and passionate to the point of no return.It was beautiful.. 

No

...he was beautiful.He seemed to glide on floor and make every move feel like it was a part of him.

         When the song and his steps stopped , Luhan couldn't gel but look  at the panting Jongin in front of him and just really look at him.

         How could someone like him like me, thought Luhan. Sure he deemed himself handsome but there wasn't much to it . He wasn't tall like Chanyeol nor funny like some others in his class.He was just… Luhan, simply Luhan. If Kai liked him and that he knew for sure,that meant there was something to like about him.That made him smile while he looked at the object of his thoughts.

         But then.

         Someone else came in view.Someone came and clapped Kai on his back and smiled at him.That someone came in like a ing wrecking ball(as miley would say) and started commenting Kai on his dancing making him blush a pretty pink.They started conversing and joking. Pushing each other lightly and unconsciously touching eachother.

         That should be me. Don't touch him.

         And the green monster appeared. It crawled up his esophagus and reach his mouth, leaving a bitter after taste. He didn't like it. He didn't like it when people touched Jongin so intimately. No sir, not one bit. As he saw the two continue their games, he understood his feelings. His too-hard-to-ignore feelings.

         Damn.

         Jealousy is always the best remedy, huh? Or in this case, eye opener.

         "Hyung, if beauty were time , you'd be eternity."

         Luhan had felt his presence even before he started talking. It had been a couple months since he found Kai in the dance studio and Jongin was still going strong with the pick up lines. He could tell when the other was around.

How?

His stomach had butterflies crawl up and down, it was automatic. Like they seemed to be doing the merengue or some like that. Although he kept a poker face (now it had become something he had mastered) his mind was another thing.

         OH MY GOD. DID HE REALLY? THAT WAS SO PRETTY, DAMN BOY GOT SOME MOVES. OH MY, HE IS SO PRETTY ,SO NICE, SO...SO                URGHHH.

         "No ? Oh. " Kai nodded , disappointed. "Okay .Umm, okay then. I'll  see you later … I guess . Bye Luhan ,Chanyeol-ssi."

         Luhan watched him leave head down, shoulders sagged. Right into that someone from the studio's arms. He could see the boy comforting Jonging and sighing. It made his heart clench, out of jealousy but mostly from sadness.

         "Hyung… Why are you doing this?" Said a voice next to the spoken one

"He obviously cares for you and you do too, its clear as day. Why do you keep denying him? You guys could be happy right now but you keep pushing him away. You are aware that he could end it, right? He could wake up one day and just stop because it hurts too much, getting rejected like that for so long. He's been doing all the moves to get to know you. You need to step up or soon, you'll be replaced "Chanyeol finished sadly before parting for class in a hurry , leaving Luhan to his own thoughts.

         He never thought of it like that. He was hurting Kai and hurting Kai was like hurting himself. Dumb, painful and it made them lose so much time. It was ridiculous. He was ridiculous.

         You need to step up or soon, you'll be replaced.

         His friends words came back to him in a flash and he shook. It was too close too reality. He saw how the other looked at Kai. He knew that if Jongin decided to give up on him , he would be the one to be there for him. And on more then a friendly base.

         He couldn't let that happen, he couldn't let his insecurities make him lose Kai. He was too important, too precious .

         No , I won't let that happen.That Kyungsoo kid ain't getting him. He's mine.

         "Kai-ssi…" Luhan asked feeling shy and a bit scared as the called one turned to him with a raised eyebrow. It was friday after school and the nerves kept eating him alive.

This was it .

No one was around since they had things to do and they wanted to get started on the weekend. It was really just them in the deserted hallways. And it  somehow calmed him a bit. 

A bit.

Okay, breath in and breathe out. You can do this Luhan, just go on with it . Don't panic.

"Uuhhhh...."

"Yes Luhan-ssi?"

Luhan-ssi? What happened to just Luhan...

No it's not happening. Now.

"Did it hurt when you fell from heaven?"

Silence

Silence was the only thing that could be heard. Luhan's face flushed and dispair filled his whole being.

Was he too late?

Had Kyungsoo already got him?

Was he finally paying for all those months Kai had been so obviously pinning after him but didnt react?

He was panicking because...

What if ...?

"I'm sorry Jongin-ssi, I just... I wanted to show my feelings by using the first pick up line you used on me, on you. But obviously it was stupid and I'm stupid and you're probably going out with Kyungsoo and very happy together and I know I'm babbling like a fool right now and-" 

A chuckle and a smile interrupted him. He knew he was blushing and looked rather stupid talking about nonsense but... after that smile he couldn't help but think , if looking like that meant seeing that smile more often he'd do it more often. And that, in a heartbeat.  

He saw Kai make his way to him and stand at an arms length. He was smiling softly and looking at Luhan as if he was the most precious thing in the world.His eyes were shining with care and love it was overwhelming.

And then he finally opened his mouth to say...

"Let's commit the perfect crime: I'll steal your heart , and you'll steal mine"

... a mothering pick up line.

Luhan couldn't help but laugh and wrap his arms around Kai's neck, smiling fondly at him.

"Yah, just kiss me you pabo."

"Yes Honey"
