Normal Couple Issues
Tiffany was tired after a long day of school, and unfortunately, Hyun Joong has forgotten to pick her up, again. It was the third time that week that she had to walk home, all of her heavy books for studying flung over her shoulder as her fatigued legs dragged her half-alert body down the busy Seoul streets. She wiped the sweat away from her forehead, it was only fall semester, and it was hot.

“I remind that man far too much for him to forget to pick me up!” she scolded to herself, impatiently pounding the numbers on her phone to create a text message for him. Though, she had become slightly concerned; it was rather unusual for Hyun Joong to just not answer or check his phone, no matter what. “He must be at work,” she added before continuing to trudge down the street.

Hyun Joong, however, was sitting in his car, speeding much beyond the speed limit as he raced to the high school. He felt bad, it was her graduating year and he always found himself forgetting to pick her up and would wind up going home to find her hot, tired body asleep on his couch; books, papers, writing utensils scattered everywhere. But that wouldn’t happen today. At least he didn’t completely forget, so she couldn’t have been home yet, especially since the class had just recently ended. He scrolled through his messages and let go a sigh of relief when he had received some information about a nearby café she had stopped at, and he was ready to meet her there.

He sighed at his own arrival, looking around the small coffee shop before finding her, having and iced mocha shoved in front of him as he sat. She meant serious business. “Hyun Joong,” she sighed. “I’m starting to think these arrangements aren’t working out, this is the third time this week you’ve forgotten to pick me up and—would you put those damn glasses down?” she interrupted herself to direct his attention back to herself, “and I just think that if you can’t do something as simple as pick me up from school—”

“Please don’t break up with me,” he blurted. She gave him a very confused look, shaking her head softly.

“I wasn’t breaking up with you! I was going to ask you for weekly bus money so I don’t have to walk anymore,” she replied, watching him cautiously take a sip of his mocha.

“I’m sorry I constantly let you down,” he said to her, hanging his head as he set his mocha back down, stirring it with the straw nervously and avoided eye contact with her at all costs.Tiffany  sighed again. It wasn’t that he let her down, she knew he was busy and could be very forgetful, but she didn’t exactly appreciate the fact that he continued to forget, and she’d really hate it when the cold weather came around.

“Hyun Joong, don’t beat yourself up more than I’m already beating you. It’s not worth it,” she whispered, pushing her latté towards him for him to finish since his iced mocha was almost gone. There was a long awkward silence between the two, Hyun Joong continuing to avoid eye contact.

“The least I could do was meet you here,” he whispered back, finally breaking the silence.

She quietly said his name, sliding her hand across the table to softly touch his, which pulled back much to her chagrin and his eyes finally met hers, his lips slightly parted, his tired eyes looking over her face as his hand slid back to where it was, softly touching his pinky against her fingers.

“Take me home, please,” she said, pulling her hand back away from his, leaving some money on the table before shoving her books back in her bag, flinging it over her shoulder as she walked out of the café, not really concerned as to whether he was following or not.

Hyun Joong sighed, watching his younger girlfriend walk out the door, leaving him there to sit at the table. He looked at the cash she set on the table before getting up, shoving his phone back in his pocket and walked out the door to meet her.

Waiting patiently for him to unlock the door, Tiffany watched his every move, scrutinizing every moving muscle in his body, moving gracefully to the car. She couldn’t stop looking. Though she had been mad at him just a few seconds before, it was definitely not the case anymore. The more she looked at him, the more she just wanted him, despite how tired she was.

“Fany babe,” he said, watching her continue to stand outside his car. He waited a few seconds for her to respond, noticing her stare at him. When she didn’t respond, he couldn’t help but sigh and smile. “Baby,” he sang, waving his hand in front of her face, “you’re staring at me again.” She shook her head, bringing herself back to reality and this time looked at him with a proper conscience before getting in the car. “You must have worked hard today, you didn’t respond the first time I called,” he mentioned and looked over.

Returning his eyes to the road, he smiled. She was fast asleep against the window, obviously exhausted. He shook his head, whispering her name to himself occasionally until they arrived home. He was surprised again when she didn’t wake from her snooze after his car door had slammed and took it upon himself to be a gentleman and carry his fair maiden inside instead of waking her up, especially when she almost fell out of the car when he opened the door anyway.

He laid her down on the couch and sighed dreamily, he had always said that she looked the cutest when she was sleeping. He propped a pillow under her head comfortably, letting her legs rest across his lap as he watched TV, or rather, watched her sleep. He slowly her smooth creamy white calves, massaging them softly, trying hard to focus on whatever was on TV and his attention was immediately received when a flashy game show came on.

Hyun Joong wasn’t sure how much time had gone by, each second ticking one after the other. He watched the second hand on the clock tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick. He was getting antsy for her to wake, his legs shifting, his hand drawing inane patterns and shapes on her skin. This whole routine seemed mundane; pick her up from school or not, he’d come home to watch her sleep.

Not able to take it for very much longer, he put her legs to the side, getting up to write her a note before heading out the door.

Tiffany wasn’t asleep that much longer, twenty minutes or so. Her eyes opened to a missing Hyun Joong and decided to explore. She walked into the kitchen, listening to her stomach grumble before finding his note on the table.

Fany babe,

Gone out for dinner. I’ll bring you back your favorite.

All my love,

Hyun Joong

“Oppa,” she groaned, hearing his car door slam outside and she slapped the note back down on the table, waiting for him to enter with the two things she wanted: food, and him. A devious smile found its way to her face as she jumped back on the couch, covering herself with the blankets, shutting her eyes as she pretended to be asleep.

She was really going to now.

Practically being able to hear his footsteps on the concrete outside the house, she prepared herself, snuggling up, pretending that she was asleep. She could hear Hyun Joong sigh as he closed the door, setting the food down in the plastic bag which made a ton of noise as it shifted.

“Fany,” he called, only to have her groan quietly in return, shifting on the couch under the covers. “Fany,” he called again, looking over across the room to the couch where she lay.

“Oppa,” she dragged out, groaning throatily, yet very high pitched. Hyun Joong looked confused, watching her as she called to him. He walked over to the couch slowly and quietly, stopping by her face to push her hair away from it. “Oppa!” she whispered, turning to lay on her back, flinging her head away from him.

Hyun Joong swallowed a groan as he plopped down on the floor next to the couch, reaching out to touch her cheek. He knew exactly what she was dreaming about, believing she was still asleep. “Fany, stop this, please,” he said, shaking her softly, trying to wake her up.

It took all the power she had to keep herself from giggling and smiling. “Oh, yeah,” she whispered, arching her back slightly.

“Yeah?” he asked huskily into her ear. “Fany, you shouldn’t tease me like this,” he whispered to her, biting her earlobe as he leaned over her.

“Does it turn you on when I make noises like that?” she whispered back into his ear.

“You’re such a faker,” he replied, pushing himself up and away from her. But before he could get away, she grabbed his shirt, pulling him back down.

“Thank you for dinner,” she said to him, kissing his soft lips affectionately before feeling herself being lifted off the couch and into his strong, toned arms.

“Why don’t you come eat it?” he asked, not really giving her a choice as he took her into the kitchen, setting her down on the counter. “Maybe we could have a little kitchen fun for you teasing me like that,” he added, wrapping her legs around him before leaning down to gently kiss her neck, pushing her long hair away from it. “Maybe I can get you to make those kinds of noises to me while you’re ‘awake’.”

She smiled, pushing her hand against his firm, sturdy chest. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you?” she asked.

“Very much so,” he replied, kissing behind her jaw, his hands massaging her thighs.

“How about dinner now, and noises later,” she compromised, pushing herself away from the counter.

Hyun Joong smirked, turning to follow her, holding onto her waist as he chased her back into the dinning room.
