Hyun Su evantually died, because they didn't have the money to treat him. Onew was the one who took it the hardest, actually. He felt that it was his fault they couldn't save him. After that, he vowed he'd do anything to become an idol, so that he'd loads of money that he could use if anyone he knew ever became sick again.
