~ Prologue ~

“Jaejoong-ah, gwenchanayo. You look sick” she asked worriedly, taking the pile of books off his hands. “Komawoyo, Thanks for helping me today. You should go home”

“Ah!!!!..............the assignment if you can’t finish by tomorrow it’s ok, I’ll give you one day grace. Just go back and rest, araso” she continued, giving him a reassuring gaze.

“Yeh.........kim songsaenim.” he replied with a weak smile on his face. A fake smile to deceive the world, to conceal all his misery he can’t tell or show. “..........I will ....... .Don’t worry, I’ve finish the songfic already......”

“Really, what song did you write about?”

“DBSK. Why did I fall in love with you?”

“Ah.............a love song....................” she gasped excitedly with a dreamy expression plastered on her face.

“Anniyo.......” he answered dejectedly, breaking her blissful thoughts. “.....it’s a tragedy that can’t be avoided.........”

“jin jia.........I can’t wait to....” she replied sweetly but when her gaze interlock with his forlorn eyes engrave in pain, she can’t make herself tell him the anticipation she had, wanting to read his work because she felt a sudden inexpressible heartache forcing tears to brim in her eyes.

“Jae, I’ve been searching everywhere for you. Let’s go...............” Yunho exclaimed, dragging his bestfriend away, breaking the awkward silence lingering between the two. “bye..........Kim songsaenim.............”

“Let go of me, JUNG YUNHO............” he screamed, trying his best to flinch away the strong grip on his hand. “Where the hell are you bringing me?”

“Anywhere that could make your ing brain work again...........” Yunho screamed angrily, slamming the older boy against the wall, pinning his slender body between his arms. “Damn it, are you crazy? You’re planning to tell the whole world that you love him, don’t you?”

Staring at the quiet boy in front of him, he knew the unspoken answer that makes his inside cringes. “Sigh................please don’t do it. I’m begging you” Yunho pleaded anxiously, sinking his head against the older boy’s chest.

 “You’re going to destroy your life, your parents’ life and his life too. You’re going to lose everything overnight, everything that is dear to you. It will kill you, Jae. It will kill you.............so I won’t let you do it. I can’t lose you” he sobbed desolately, allowing his tears to taint the boy’s clean white shirt. “Please don’t......promise me.....you won’t........”

“.....hem...I can’t......Yunho-ah.............God has played a cruel joke on me.......... and I’m tired of it already...........If I lose him now, I won’t be a part of his future anymore. I won’t get to see him fall in love, graduate from university, get married, have children and live happily ever after.I don’t have to face my parents anymore; I don’t need to carry the guilt of betraying them; betraying their love and trust for me...............

Do you understand................I’m a selfish person............I could never stand aside and watch him; the person I loved walk into another person’s embrace with a smile of happiness on his face. I just can’t......I could never give him my blessings..............I’m sorry..............”

“No...............listen to me...........You’re stronger than you think you’re, Jae. You can survive this. Time will fade away your love for him. I will accompany you through this, believe in me ok. Don’t do anything stupid, give me your assignment. Let’s keep this a secret forever.” Yunho coaxed, wiping away the droplet of tear rolling down the older boy’s cheek. Tears he had never seen before on his best friend’s face.

“Why did I fall in love with him...............why did I stupidly fall for him................I’m really an idiot........an idiot........” Jaejoong muffled under his breath as he crashed into the younger boy’s embrace, allowing the tears he endured for years to stream down his face. It’s the first and final time he would cry for heart out for the unrequited love he’s having now and that is a silent promise he made to himself.

 Anyone want to make a guess who's the person Jaejoong is in love is? Why is he struggling in pain?
