Chapter 1: The New Girl

 

Why did we have to move in the middle of the year? I hate being the new girl. Nobody likes the new girl. They've all made friends, while I'm alone missing my friends back home.

"Hello. Hey? ________-ah, are you paying attention?" your older brother jeered.

"Mmhm...wait, well I was bu-" you mumbled before you were abruptly cut off.

"________-ah look, I know its been hard for you. This whole situation has been hard on you and I get it. I'm sorry I can't manage to keep any job I get, but please cooperate with me.." Bo Eun said calmly

Is he serious? "Cooperate"? What do you think I've been doing for the past five years you idiot! Anger made its way through your body causing your teeth to clench and fists to form.

"I know. Do you think I'm stupid? I've cooperated this whole time haven't I? Gosh. Can't you see that I just want some peace and quiet. I don't need you to nag all the damn time." you brutally replied

Nothing but silence filled the car after that. You didn't mean to be rude, but you were fed up with him apologizing all the time. You knew he tried his best to keep a job, but his alcohol addiction always got the best of him. He was a drunk fool. Who could blame him? He's got two dead parents and a 18 year-old sister to care for. If you were him, you'd probably be drunk all the time too. Memories of your parents filled your head, causing tears to form.

Five years. Its already been five year since you two became angels. Umma, Appa I miss you so much...please watch over Bo Eun, please keep him safe

Tears fell as the car came to a sudden stop. "We're here" Bo Eun mumbled while looking out the window. You unbuckled yourself, grabbed your bag and right before getting out of the car you blurted "Saranghaeyo oppa" closing the door as fast as you could right after. Bo Eun glanced at you and smiled just before speeding off into the distance

A shiver ran down your back as you faced the school. You couldn’t tell if it was from the cold weather or the fact that you had finally arrived at your new school. You started to walk towards the big blue office doors. As you reached for the doorknob, you heard a loud happy shriek behind you.

“Ah! You must be the new girl?! Hello, I'm Ja Eun Mi but you can call me Eunminnie.”

Shocked at what just happened, you managed to stutter your name  "O-oh hello, I-im _______.” Does everyone know I’m the new girl?

"I'll be showing you to your classes" Eun Mi giggled as she stared at you contently.

"Oh ok. Uhm do you have all your classes with me?" you replied happily.

 

The bell rang right as she was going to reply. Eun Mi grabbed your wrist and led you to your first class, Chemistry. Along the way Eun Mi stopped to introduce you to her friends and explain where to meet her for lunch. The day had Just started and you were already fed up with it.

As you two were on your way to class, Eun Mi stopped to chat. You decide to go on ahead and inform the teacher that you’re the new girl. Making your way into the room, you were struck by a beautiful face. There he was. Beautiful smiling eyes, big sculpted lips that no longer hid his beautiful white teeth, and that ever so perfect jawline. You looked down at the floor surprised by such beauty.

Oh man, why didn't Eun Mi tell me about the cute boys. He's so cute! I bet he has a girlfriend, he's too handsome to be single

Deciding to take another look at his face, you find yourself looking at the floor again.

Damn! He seen me! Awh man this is so embarrassing. He was looking at me though.

By the time you reached the teachers desk, you had a smile from ear to ear. You introduced yourself and got placed in the back of the room alone. You didn’t mind. It was nice to be alone, and you’d be able to concentrate on your work. You’d also be able to glance at “Angel face” from time to time.

You were exhausted by lunch time. You could barely remember what classes you had gone to and your teachers names. Not to mention that Eun Mi was talking your ears out. She was nice and you were thankful for that but something about her irritated you. You decided to go explore the school since there was 20 minutes of lunch left. Explaining nicely that you wanted to go alone, Eun Mi didn't ask twice and said goodbye. Enjoying the lonely hallways, you put in your headphones. Not knowing where you’re going, you continue to turn into random hallways.

Suddenly  you feel a quick tap on your shoulder. You turn around, while pulling out your headphones, just to see that “Angel face” is standing beside you.

“Hi, I haven't seen you around before, well I mean besides today in chemistry. I'm Kim Jongin” he said shyly

Feeling your cheeks burn up, you looked down and smiled.

“Im _______. And yea today is my first day.” you giggled as you regained eye contact with Jongin.

The two of you walked around until lunch was over. Laughing and smiling, as the two of you got to know eachother and tell jokes, the bell had rang.

“Ah, that's the bell. Do you need help finding your class?” Jongin asked concerned

“No, my class is actually just right there” you replied while pointing up the hall

Looking deeply into your eyes, he said his goodbyes. “Hm, well it was really nice meeting you ______. I’ll see you tomorrow”

“Thank you for your company. It was nice meeting you too and I’ll see you tomorrow” replying quickly so the both of you could get to class.

 

Your last two classes flew by. In lala land most of the time, you didn't realize what was going on in class. It was your first day anyways, your allowed to slack off a little bit. As school came to an end, you waited for Bo Eun to pick you up. He arrived in a mighty five minutes.

 

“Hey kid, how was your day?” he asked jokingly

As you recalled meeting and spending time with Jongin, you smiled and chimed “It was good.”
