When the bell rang for last period, I slowly got up from my chair. Instead of feeling lighthearted and happy, my heart was heavy with dread. I was still embarrassed by what had happened this morning. I was definitely anything but ready to face Taekwoon again.

How could I look at him like that? He was my best friend, and he already like Jiyoung.

I couldn't help but feel jealous. She was perfect in every way, flawless even. She had the perfect little smile, big eyes, short hair cut into a cute pixie that framed her already adorable face, and she was the head cheerleader with a great body. She was a sweetheart to everyone that she met, giving her an innocent charm.

But me?

I was just a normal girl, who tries hard in school and doesn't really care for her appearance much. I would much rather play video games and lounge around my house during the weekend instead of hanging out with friends. I listen to K-pop a lot more that I should, but I couldn't sing to save my life. I am a pretty decent dancer, though.

Walking out of the classroom, I spotted Taekwoon leaning against the wall, one leg supporting his weight while the other rested on the wall behind him. He had his earbuds in his ears again, probably humming some song that I didn't know about. I had a strange epiphany that was completely unrelated; he looked a lot like the model that I saw on the magazine that I read the other day.

I was about to approach him and apologize for what had happened today, but Jiyoung beat me to it, jumping up and hugging his tall frame. For reasons I couldn't comprehend, I felt a sudden pain in my chest as I watched the two of them liplock. I ripped my eyes away from the scene and rushed out, feeling my heart crushed more and more as I walked home.

When I unlocked the door, I was thankful that Mom wasn't there for now. I know for a fact I wouldn't be able to tell her how I was feeling right now. And the fact that she would probably nag me to no end.

Making my way to my room, I opened the door and tossed my bookbag on my desk, falling on my soft bed. My mind was reeling with emotions.

I was about to fall asleep until I heard my phone ringing. Checking the caller ID, I sighed. It was none other than Taekwoon. I didn't want to talk to him right now, and so I pressed the reject button and fell asleep.

The distant voice of my mother calling me woke me up. "Honey, doesn't Taekwoon have a soccer game today? Are you not feeling okay?" My eyes widened in realization and reality hit me like ice water.

Oh. .

I scrambled out of bed, hurrying to make myself halfway presentable. My mother left the room, knowing how worked up I got when I was stressed. Grabbing my purse with everything in it, I kissed my mom and flew down the stairs to the bus stop. I hoped that I didn't miss Taekwoon's game the whole bus ride to the stadium. "Sorry, Taekwoon-ah..."

Taekwoon gritted his teeth in annoyance as his call went into voicemail for the upteenth time. Why wasn't she answering his calls? Did he do something that set her off? He was sitting alone on the bench at the sidelines, watching his team play. He saw as Jiyoung flirted innocently with yet another boy from the opposing team. Taekwoon sighed as he checked his phone. They were almost done with the first half of the game, and he was hoping that she would call before then, like she usually did when she couldn't make it.

He was beyond nervous about this whole soccer game right now, and she would usually call him to cheer him on, even though he probably wouldn't say anything back in return other than 'Okay'. She was acting a bit strange today, and he couldn't help but notice that. She wasn't there after school, and he was spending some time with Jiyoung, who was clingy as usual.

He honestly wondered what he found in that girl, other than her good looks and charm.

Suddenly, his phone started to buzz, and his heart rate picked up when her caller ID came up. "HEY! I WAS CALLING YOU FOR THE LONGEST TIME!" He shouted angrily into the phone, surprising his coach and captain, who had thought of him as a quiet person.

"Sorry, Taekwoon-ah. I guess I was so exhausted I fell asleep and forgot about the time, I'm really sorry. Are you almost up?" She apologized, sounding beyond tired. Taekwoon felt really bad now; she was probably really exhausted, and he didn't want to disturb her.

"Yeah, why?"

"Look in the stands." Taekwoon looked around the stands until he spotted her. He could tell from the fact that her dark hair was whipping around her face, and she was grinning the widest smile with her phone by her ear. "Do you see me?"

"Yeah."

"You know what to do, right? I'll support you, no matter what, okay?" Suddenly, he felt blood rushing into his cheeks, and he looked at his cleats. "Okay."

"Jung Taekwoon HWAITING!" She shouted over the phone, jumping up and down in glee. He didn't notice it before, but she had the most beautiful eye smile that he had ever seen. She probably forgot to get her glasses.

Suddenly, Taekwoon knew what he felt for Minji. What he was feeling was what people called LOVE.
