LESSON ONE. 
Our teacher will be Kim jongin. 

Kim Jongin : Make me proud my oranges! You'll get a reward if you do well! *y smirk*

Orange : Seonsaengnim,  My bodie's ready. *Does a y awkward pose on the floor*

Kim Jongin : Orange, don't call me Seonsaengnim. Call me Kai oppa instead. I give you permission to be informal with me.

Okay Oranges, Let's begin. 
 

Basic english sentance: 
I am Chen.  

That sentance in korean is:
I Chen am.

Remember The korean sentance structure is 
Suject, Obect, Verb or you can remember it as SOV.

VERB IS NEARLY ALWAYS AT THE END! 

I am Chen = 저는Chen이에요 (I did not put Chen's name in Korean so that you would be less confused) 

저는 Chen이에요

저 = Ja (I) 

는 = Neun (Sentance particle. We will learn this in detail later) 

첸= Chen (Chen's name in korean just so you know ;) 
이에요 = Ieyo (Am) Pronounced as Ee-ae-yo 

저는 Chen이에요

Okay Now we will learn a word in korean.

 학생(Haksaeng) = Student. 

저는 학생이에요

I am a student. 

Kim jongin: Okay I'm not suppose to romanize that because we did tell you that you needed to know your alphabet. Buuuut since I love you oranges I will romanize it for you. But remember Other teachers may be stict and not romanize it for you *Cough* Chen *Cough* 
Chen: I HEARD THAT!
Kim jongin: Anyway just make sure you know you're alphabet.

저는 학생이에요

(Ja nuen haksaeng Ieyo) 

I am a student.

Ja = I 
Nuen = Particle
Haksaeng = Student
Ieyo = am 
 

Note: Did you notice I didn't say/do anything for "a"?

In korean there is no such thing as 'The' or 'a. Great right? 

Kai is a student. 
Kai는 학생이에요 (Kai nuen haksaeng Ieyo) 

Did you notice I used the same verb for is?

is = 이에요  am= 이에요 are= 이에요  be= 이에요 

이에요 (Ieyo) Does everything! yaaaaayyy!!

Verbs do not change according to the speakers grammatcal person.

1st person (I ,We) =============> All use the
2nd person(you)===============>   same

3rd peraon (He, she, they etc) ====>    Verb 

Example : 
 

1st person 

I am Chen 

저는 Chen이에요

2nd person 
Kai is a student 
Kai는 학생이에요

See, No change in the verb. 

Kim jonging: It wasn't much but that is because we want to teach you oranges slowly step by step making sure none of you is confused. 
 

Orange: Kai oppa!~ I did well! Wheres my reward. 
 

Kim jongin : Your reward is more knowledge in korean. 

Orange : Kai oppa......
