“Oh yea?” he replied effortlessly, a devious smile etched onto those flawless features. “And I’ll leave you on February the 30th." He paused. "That's a promise.” Naturally, I assumed he would never leave. But Tomorrow is full of its own promises, promises it never fails to keep. Promises of tragedy that leave yet another wounded soul bleeding in its wake.

I fiddled with the stem of carnation between my fingers, a soft smile playing on my lips.
I love carnations, they were beautiful and my favourite…just like him.

I traced my finger along the carnation's soft pink petals, gazing out at the empty streets.
