Tan skinned eyelids opened to slits, struggling to focus on the body just inches away. 

"You're awake," the other whispered, voice low. Thin eyebrows began to lock together in the center of the curly haired man's forehead, small lips retreating into the confines of the well-kept teeth. The gangly boy sighed and reached out to flick the hair out of the other's face. Realizing what he was doing, the curly haired man let his hand drop and retreated to sit back in his chair.

Jongin, as he'd come to find out, had finally seemed to focus on him through the haze of the morphine. However, he seemed confused.

"You'd collapsed," Chanyeol offered. Understanding dawned on the younger of the two and he looked around the room, obviously trying to win against the havy dose of painkillers. 

Jongin looked back at Chanyeol and sighed. "Again," he added in a hoarse whisper, then added at length, "How long?"

"Six hours." Chanyeol looked at him, brows drawn. "I don't like seeing you suffer like this, Jong. Some days, I really wish I could take the pain from you, even if just for a little while." His voice dropped to a careful whisper. "Even if to the end."
