Lip Biter

Oh Sehun was just an ordinary boy,  who recently got into college for Accounting but ended up wasting his university life, dancing.

Well, it was not that he hated to attend the class, he still did. It was just that he always ended up in the dance practice room after all his classes and danced to his heart content. Or maybe he’d just went to watch a certain someone named Xi Luhan.

“You’re coming for Luhan again?” Dark skin boy sit down beside Sehun with wet shirt from sweat. “I told you, you gotta make your move or move on, dude.” Sehun sighed as he listened to his best friend rambling about the deer-like-eyed boy who was now dancing to the upbeat music from the stereo.

“Ah Jongin, why must he be so perfect…” Sehun sighed in adoration as his eyes were glued to the dancing boy who just stopped moving and was now wiping his sweaty face clean with a towel. “I want to be the towel that could caress his sweat away…” Sehun said dreamily.

“You’re impossible.” Jongin rolled his eyes then decided to do something that would make Sehun’s eyeballs almost jump out. “Luhan hyung!! Come here!”

“Jongin!!!” Sehun shrieked, panic began to rush into him as he saw the love of his life turn around.

Luhan, the mentioned boy, just complied to approach Jongin and Sehun, who sat in the corner of the practice room. “Yo, what’s up?” Luhan smiled and Sehun’s hand that was about to hit Jongin on the face weakened. He felt boneless when he saw that smile from up close, it was so beautiful that Sehun’s heart ached from the sight.

“Meet my friend Sehun, he said he likes you- Ouch!“ Sehun hit Jongin in the ribs. “Ugh I mean, he likes your shirt.” Jongin forced a smile as he step on Sehun’s foot in return.

“Ouch!” Sehun cried.

“Ouch?” Luhan frowned.

“I-I mean ouch, your shirt is so cool.” Sehun tried his best not to stutter. Because after having spent half a year stalking watching Luhan, he never really had a conversation with him. “Where did you buy it?”

Luhan’s eyes blinked as he looked up to Sehun, then he cracked into laughs. “Is that how a boy your age asks someone out?” Then Sehun blushed because it was not his intention. “Because if  it is, I’m free Friday night.” Oh okay maybe it was.

“F-Friday?” Sehun raised his brows. And Luhan nodded with a smile on his lips.

“Yes, just give me your number so I can text you my address.” Luhan gave Sehun his phone and with trembling hands Sehun typed his number and added it into Luhan’s new contact number.

“Address?” Sehun questioned, because what did Luhan’s address have to do with their date- ugh was it counted as date?

“So you can pick me up, silly.” Luhan laughed. He took his phone back after Sehun was done typing his number into his phone. “Sehun, right?” Luhan tilted his head to the side and it was the cutest sight in the world that Sehun had ever seen.

“Y-yes.” Sehun gulped his nerves down as he tried to shoot a smile to his 6 months crush. “Luhan.”

After having a war with his room mate (No other but Jongin) about which clothes were the best to wear on his first date with the love of his life, Sehun took a bus and went to the address Luhan texted him on Wednesday. Sehun hoped he didn’t look too fancy but not like a hobo either in Luhan’s eyes. Sehun was too nervous with his thoughts about Luhan and where they would ende up tonight when he realized the bus had arrived at his destination; Luhan’s apartment.

After gathering up his nerves, Sehun stepped into the apartment and went to the floor where Luhan lived on. When Sehun was about to knock (The bell was being repaired) the door magically opened to show the beautiful male with a grey cardigan and skinny jeans behind it. Was his brain playing tricks or was it really Luhan who looked so differently pretty today- oh, was it because of the eyeliner?

“Are you wearing make up?” Sehun blurted out, he kind of regretted it because Luhan looked uncomfortable with it on and was trying to hide his blushing face. “N-not that it looks awful on you, you look fabulous.” It’s just that I think you look better without it. That’s what Sehun almost said but he decided not to.

“Thanks.” Luhan finally smiled at him, the smaller locked his apartment and looked up to Sehun, who was still staring at the pretty boy. “Now, let’s go.”

Sehun tried his best not to look like a fool who was smiling to himself on their way to the bus stop. The reason was simple, and kind of foolish. It was just because the back of their hands kept brushing against each other and Luhan was standing so close to him on the elevator. Sehun tried his best not to get drunk by the smell of Luhan’s cologne that smelled oh so nice. Sehun wondered what the name of the cologne was. (Maybe he’d ask about that later.) They got onto the bus and went to Myeongdong.

The main purpose of their date was for Luhan to show Sehun the shop where he bought the shirt that Jongin said Sehun thought was nice, but they ended up going to a café and having a drink there. Luhan was an easy person to talk to, he was so cheerful and open with his opinion. Luhan told Sehun that he was wondering what an accounting student was doing in the dance major’s practice room everyday and Sehun just told him that someone made him to do things he never imagined doing.

“I got mesmerized by a certain someone who is always dancing his heart out. That someone is so beautiful at everything he does especially when he’s dancing, he doesn’t even know though.” Sehun said directly to Luhan’s face, he was thinking Luhan would think he was too corny or moving too fast for their first date. But Sehun’s worries washed away when he saw Luhan give him a shy smile and muttered thanks under his breath.

They passed by the infamous skincare shop as they finished their coffee from the café. Sehun didn’t know how they ended up going into the shop, but when he saw Luhan asking the sales girl about a skincare product and such about covering damaged skin, he understood why Luhan insisted to go into the shop.

“It’s this scar under my lips, I need something thick to make it less visible!” Luhan cried.

Luhan was persistent that the scar under his lips made him look awful, when the truth was that Sehun hardly noticed it. Luhan ended up buying a lot of cream for his face or the stuff that Sehun couldn’t remember the name of. Sehun was trying to tell Luhan that he looked just fine with his scar that it was hardly visible. When Luhan stopped at the ddokbuki house and bought two for each of them. Sehun was so excited to be fed the delicious ddokbuki by Luhan, that he forget what he was suppose to say to the older.

Sehun walked Luhan home and said goodbye at the frame of the door of the older’s apartment. Luhan was being too cute as he stared at Sehun with a beautiful smile on his face, saying he had a good time and couldn’t wait to go on another date with Sehun. He was too oblivious to notice how bad Sehun was trying not to lean down and shut that rambling mouth up with his lips.

Sehun couldn’t get a taste of those lips on their first date, but at least he got to know Luhan better, and more importantly; Luhan was looking forward to their upcoming dates.

Their second date was in the campus cafeteria and it couldn’t really be called a date because Jongin was messing around with them., which made Sehun kinda pissed off because Jongin kept blabbering about how desperate he was about Luhan. (Well, half of them were true but Jongin being the drama king that he was, added a few dramatic scenes in his story). Luhan being an angel he was, just laughed at every word Jongin said. Sehun on the other hand, just frowned at his room mate and considered to kick him out of their shared room later.

It was when Jongin started to say that Sehun always called Luhan’s names during his sleep that Sehun decided to defend for himself.

“Yah! When did I? I'm always the quiet sleeper!” Sehun yelled.

“Yeah but you’re a moaner lover.” Jongin talked back.

Luhan’s face flustered a deep shade of red as Sehun was burning in embarrassment.

“Luhan hyung, let’s go somewhere else and leave this stupid jerk alone.” Sehun got up from his seat with the golden hair boy, who followed him to leave the cafeteria.

“Hyaaah! Where are you two going?” Jongin yelled from behind, but the couple was too engrossed with each other's presence to care.

They ended up  going nowhere because it turned out that Sehun had a class in 5 minute. Sehun wore his gloomy face until Luhan touched his chin and put a smile upon his frowned face by saying he would walk Sehun to his class. And Luhan really did. Sehun spent the entire class with a big smile plastered on his face.

Their third date was in the campus library. Sehun had asked Luhan to grab some coffee in the coffee shop near campus first, but Luhan replied that he had to look for some dance history book in the library. Sehun was thinking about postponing their date to other day when Luhan held his wrist and asked him to come along with him instead. Who was Sehun to say no to the beautiful boy who snatched his heart away?

The library was fun if he was there with Luhan, that was Sehun thought because it was really far from boring (like he expected it to be). How could it be boring when he had the low whispers from the dancer right in his ear? Luhan was telling him funny stuff about his classes and Sehun would respond with tiny laughs. Once Luhan tickled Sehun’s sensitive waist, making the younger yelp and earn dirty looks from the librarian. Sehun returned the treat by pinching Luhan’s button nose. Sehun ignored the sticky make up on Luhan's face that sticked onto his fingers, and pressed a quick peck on the older’s cheek.

Sehun couldn’t forget the fragrance of Luhan’s body as he scooted closer to press another kiss on the other cheek. It was the same cologne Luhan wore on their first date, it was nice. But that made Sehun wonder about how Luhan smelled like without cologne at all.

Their fourth, fifth, and Sehun lost the counts of how many dates he had with Luhan. He did know that Luhan was pure perfection and he couldn’t help but fall harder for the boy each day.

Sehun learned stuff about Luhan. He learned about the boy’s favorite dishes or what he was allergic to (strawberries, how could someone have an allergic to strawberries?). Sehun knew the cologne Luhan always wore too. It wasn't a famous brand and we couldn’t mention it here since it would count as promoting. (They didn’t pay me for that) Besides that Sehun learned a lot of stuff about Luhan, for example Sehun learned that Luhan was a lip biter.

Which did not mean Luhan liked to bit people’s lips (Sehun wished his lips were bitten by the Chinese though), but Luhan had a habit of biting his own lips. Sehun found it amusing because Luhan looked cuter rather than inviting. (Not that he didn’t find Luhan y) Luhan often caressed the scar under his lips too as he listened to Sehun talk. Sehun started to think that he had something for the scar under Luhan’s lips the night Sehun examined Luhan’s face when the older fell asleep on his shouder as they rode the bus. Sehun thought that the scar made Luhan look real and human (Because sometimes Sehun would mistaken him as an angel). The scar was the thing that reminded Sehun that Luhan was a human like him too. And where could you find a flawless human being in this world? Nobody’s perfect.

-

Sehun was on his way to meet up with his old high school friends when he saw Luhan’s figure in the crowd. (He always had a sharp eye for anything related to Luhan) Sehun was about to call out to the older when Sehun saw Luhan get into a building that Sehun recognized as a beauty center where half of Seoul citizen got their face done. What was Luhan doing in such a place? Was he visiting a friend or- was he thinking about doing something to his appearance?

Sehun wasn’t one to get involved with someone’s business. Sehun knew what was private. But Sehun couldn’t restrain himself from asking Luhan about the thing he always wondered about.

“Why did you go to that kind of place?” Sehun asked, one day in the middle of the day in the quiet café where they usually hung out.

Luhan, at first looked taken aback with the fact that Sehun knew about him seeking for plastic surgery, but he sipped his coffee and answered the younger with a clear voice;

“I want to get plastic surgery so I can get rid of this fault of mine.” Luhan touched the scar under his lips and Sehun frowned at how thick Luhan’s make up was that day. “Wearing make up is making me tired, and won't last long. So yeah I think having plastic surgery is the answer to my problem.”

Sehun knew that Luhan disliked the scar under his lips. It was not a secret to those who were close with the deer-eyed-boy, but he didn’t know that it was this bad.

“Why? I don’t think you need to fix anything on your-“

“You wont understand.” Luhan cut Sehun off, with a loud sigh Luhan continued “I have reason that people like you wouldn't understand.”

“And what it that?” Sehun quizzed. “Why don’t you try to make me understand?”

Luhan was about to answer when his phone rang and he excused himself to answer his phone. Luhan returned to the table with a gloomy face.

“Who was that? What’s with the long face?” Sehun questioned.

Luhan didn’t even bother to answer and grabbed his bag leaving Sehun dumbfounded.

Sehun couldn’t stay in contact with Luhan for a week after that encounter.

It was when Sehun started to stop coming to the Dance major practice room that he heard the news about the Chinese.

Jongin was the one who called Sehun in the middle of his class informing him that  Luhan got into an accident when he was delivering pizza. Sehun didn’t even ask for permission from his lecturer and rushed to the hospital abandoning his class.

Luhan didn't come from a wealthy family but not from a family tight of money either.  So why did Luhan sign up for such a dangerous job as a pizza boy? Sehun even doubted that Luhan could ride a motorcycle. Sehun tried to collect the pieces and put them together and he got a hypothesis about what was going on.

He was looking for extra money so he could pay for the plastic surgery.

Luhan was so foolish,  Sehun thought, but he might have been more foolish than Luhan. Because as he saw the Chinese boy lying with bandages around his limbs, all his anger melted into tears. Luhan called him to come closer. Sehun did as he was told and climbed into Luhan’s bed before wrapping himself around the broken boy. Sehun’s heart ached seeing Luhan getting hurt like that. There was a scratch on Luhan’s cheek, Sehun thought it was the first time he saw Luhan with a bare face. His skin looked so smooth, there was a little pimple above his brows but Sehun thought Luhan looked the prettiest like this. But that was not the concern right now.

“Do you have any idea how terrified I was when Jongin told me about you?” Sehun said hands cupping Luhan’s small face. “Why did you do this… You didn’t have to do anything reckless like this just to get rid of something unnecessary like that.” Sehun added.

There was a slight expression of hurt inside Luhan’s eyes when Sehun looked at them, Sehun felt sorry for making it harsher than he needed to.

“I’m sorry Sehun-ah… It’s just because I like you a lot…” Luhan clutched onto Sehun’s shirt as he looking up at the younger with a reddened face. “I like you a lot so please don’t hate me…” Luhan started to bawl and Sehun couldn’t help but bring the older into an embrace.

It made Sehun’s heart go crazy with Luhan’s sudden confession. He began to panic when he heard Luhan sob louder as he ran his fingers throug the older’s golden hair, Sehun whispered it’s okays against his forehead but it was not what he wanted to say.

“You should have known better about how much I like you Lu. Jongin said it in my behalf . You should have know that you didn’t have to get plastic surgery to make me fall for you because I already have. What makes you ignorant to that?” Sehun sighed.

Luhan leaned back and his eyes gazed at Sehun’s face, then he let out a long sigh before he went back to his habit, biting his lip.

“It’s be-because everytime I looking at you— I saw this handsome and perfect boy. I felt so worthless when I looked into the mirror because it reminded me how perfect you are and how far from perfect I am. I’m just trying to be a better person so maybe I’d be worthy boyfriend material for you.” Luhan finally confessed his main reason, which made Sehun laugh bitterly at the older.

Because it was so sad and bitter how Luhan looked at himself so lowly when Sehun looked at him so dearly. Sehun might have forgetten what had drew his attention to the Chinese in the first place. It could have been Luhan's golden hair which always looked so smooth and puffy. Or it could have been Luhan's eyes which everyone said looked like a bambi's. It could have been anything on Luhan, and Sehun thought that scar could have been one of the reason why he was so attracted to Luhan in the first place. The fact Luhan hated the thing that Sehun loved in him made Sehun feel so bitterly angry.

“You know, the bad thing is not what is on your face.” Sehun rubbed his thumb on Luhan’s cheeks, “Nor your scar.” His thumb went to the scar under Luhan’s lip. “But inside your head.” Sehun gazed into Luhan’s confused eyes and he smiled to the older as he continued;

“Your mindset of perfection is so wrong. And I’d love to change your mindset about perfection if you'd let me—” Sehun’s eyes landed on Luhan’s lips, the older was still biting on his lower lip and Sehun leaned down to press his lips on the side of Luhan’s lips. Sehun’s eyes were wide open as he pressed a full kiss on Luhan’s lips as he stared into those shockened eyes.

There were no fireworks (like every story they told about love) as their lips touched, but Sehun felt something melting inside his chest. It could be his heart. Sehun thought maybe sometimes love isn’t firecrackers, maybe sometimes love just comes softly.

“S-sehun…?” Luhan still mesmerized when Sehun leaned back from their kiss. Sehun didn’t let his face go and still cupped it in his palms.

"Do you wear a new cologne?" Sehun asked mindlessly. "Because you smell so damn good I feel dizzy."

"No, I didn't have a chance to wear any in the hospital-ahh Sehun!" Sehun pressed feverish kisses on Luhan's pale neck as he smell the older's natural fragrance. Now he could smell Luhan without any collogne, and Sehun thought this was the best cologne Luhan ever wore. His natural fragrance.

Luhan’s lips might have felt a little chaped and didn't look so glossy like it usually did but he thought he could kiss those lips for the rest of his life. So he did, when Sehun noticed Luhan nervously biting his lower lip, Sehun leaned down to press another kiss on the older’s lips.

Luhan might be a lip biter, but Sehun was a good kisser who knew the best where to bite.

“Se-Sehun I—“ Their make out session had to end because their lungs were crying for oxygen. Luhan’s face looked so red and it has never looked this red before. It might have been because of the make up that Luhan insisted to wear before. If he knew this was how Luhan looked without it before, Sehun would have tried to get rid of Luhan’s make up collection a long time ago.

How could such perfection exist?

“I love you.” Sehun kissed Luhan’s scar under his lips, the scar that Luhan hated and wanted to get rid of but Sehun thought was one of the smaller’s charm.

“B-but I’m not perfect, I’ll never be unless I—“ Sehun shut Luhan up with another kiss on his scar. And Luhan’s eyes got teary when Sehun whispered against his lips.

They say nobody is perfect, but in the moment when Sehun lied his eyes on Luhan and all his being, Sehun thought maybe there was an exception.

“You might not know this..."

For Sehun, Luhan was perfect.

Because all you need is not to get rid of your flaws to make you near perfection, but find the person who would see all your flaws and still think you’re perfect.

"But I always thought your flaws would never make you less perfect in my eyes.”

Luhan's smile as he looked up at Sehun's confession was priceless, Sehun swore nothing could be as beautiful as that smile.

"Even though I'm not wearing a nice shirt?" Luhan teased as he pointed at his pajamas, and Sehun cracked into laughs.

"Even if you're wearing the worst pajamas." Sehun caressed Luhan's bruised cheeks and planted a kiss on the older's forehead. "I'll always think you're the best."

Chapter 1: omg this is just too perfect and oh so beautiful ugh i cried at the ending bc i was so touched and i just want a guy to treat me like that :')

my favorite line was
''maybe sometimes love isn't firecrackers, maybe sometimes love just comes softly''

and also
''because all you need is not to get rid of your flaws to make you near perfection, but find the person who would see all your flaws and still think you're perfect''
