The Unexpected

"Who knew staying over could be so stressful", you complained.
"Oh look, who came here today?", the women in front of you greeted.
You didn't realise that you've reached the house.
She gave Sungjae a slit-eyed glare that suddenly turned into realisation."What brings you here?"
"I'm staying here as well."
"So you've finally come back to your senses?", she smiled.
"Yes, because she is here and I'm watching over her in case anything happens."
The corner of turned down and she returned -eyed glare.
Sungjae grasped your hand and brought you inside the house. "She'll be staying at the guest room beside mine."
He grabbed the room keys on the kitchen counter.
"Well?", Mrs Kim asked Kai, glancing over her shoulder, "Are you coming in?"
Sungjae pushed the door open to your room and threw himself on the bed.
Taking a deep breath, he turned his head to look back at you, a slow smile starting over his face.
"What?", you questioned him.
"I was just thinking, I'm going to like it here."
"Are you going do something about that?", Mrs Kim asked whilst taking a step back and settled down on one of the chairs in the living room.
Kai didn't know why Sungjae's presence made his mother so uptight.
Not that Kai minded.
He is content enough that Sungjae is there to watch over you.
You sighed.
Who would have thought that the hardest part of being the only child is to be looked after like this?
Not knowing what to do since Sungjae left your room for his, you decided to go downstairs to look for Mrs Kim.
Since you didn't get to properly thank her for the stay, you thought you'd do it now and get it done and over with.
Your train of thought was suddenly derailed by an angelic voice.
Tia, Kai's girlfriend, was looking incredibly stunning in her yellow dress.
Kai came out from one of the rooms and met her halfway down the aisle.
"Hey dear", he said, his smile bright enough to blind you.
Tia leaned in and stood on her tip-toes to lightly brush her lips against his cheeks.
Kai glanced around nervously.
He was still terribly uncomfortable with PDA, especially in public.
"I baked muffins for our picnic! Chocolate, your favourite", she held out a box.
Kai smiled and took it from her.
He cleared his throat, "So…"
He managed to drop his voice a little lower. "Is there any special occasion?"
Tia took his hand and swung it back and forth.
"No," she said, a pleasant tune to her voice.
"I just haven't seen you for a couple days and…", she leaned in close to whisper into his ear.
