Description
그댄 곁에 없지만;
In which Chanyeol heard what Baekhyun's heart said. He felt
all along but decided to kee things the way that won't
complicate them both. He thought he knew better -- only to
realize that it is way off too late. He made Baekhyun fall and let
someone else take the catch.
"The easiest thing is to love someone; the hardest? It's
finding someone who who'll love you back the way you've
loved them.."
Chanyeol thought just Baekhyun's presence is enough.
He was proven wrong.
"My greatest mistake wasn't falling for you..
I never regretted it. You know what hurts most, though?
It was thinking that you, Park Chanyeol, had fallen for me too."
Baekhyun continued to love, not him, but he's happy. Chanyeol's
love for Baekhyun grew and he tries to think it's enough, that
it's okay not to receive. He's far blinded himself from pain,
and lived his heart believing that someday, somehow,
it will no longer be..
unrequited.

Foreword
It is when the mild rays of sunshine peppered him with gentle kisses that Chanyel woke up, still feeling groggy and exhausted from last night's events. He instinctively stretched out his arm and searched for his homely bundle of warmth, but all he got is a neatly folded sheet and a sightful of pillows -- the scent of cinnamon and chocolate and summer lingering on his nose. He looked to check on the clock presented on the bedside table, and that's when he noticed that things are out of place -- or maybe, very much arranged in the way they should have been. The once portrait of him and Baekhyun is now replaced with a photo of Chanyeol looking intently at something. This is now his own side of their shared room. Chanyeol sighed.
He made his way to the kitchen and before he reaches it, his ears caught the sound of Baekhyun's laughter. He smiled, at least some things didn't change. He wasn't given a minute to brace himself for what he saw next -- his co-members radiantly watching and throwing teases at Jongin who is now currently squishing Baekhyun in his arms, the latter beamingly wiping the tears that had formed on the corners of his eyes, willingly submitting himself into the younger's embrace.
"You make me wish.. It should have been you," Baekhyun said, burying his face on the crook Jongin's neck.
Chanyeol met Jongin's eyes and he's suddenly confused on what to feel, how to act on times like this. If it was any other day, he would have just went straight to his regular seat on the dining table and teased the two who are so making a scene, but it wasn't. He doesn't know, but somehow, he wishes that Jongin would hand Bakehyun to him and say he doesn't belong to those lean arms because dammit, Baekhyunh just confessed to him!
Jongin pecked Baekhyun's forehead and teasingly kissed the tip of his ear. "It could have been us last night.." Jongin pulled away and beamed at the shorter guy. "We could have been one. It should be us next time!"
Baekhyun rolled his eyes and that's when he saw Chanyeol. He nodded at his direction and offered a timid smile for him. Chanyeol shouldn't feel annyed but he did. This goes on for a day and Chanyeol felt what they've been missing.
