Tears dampened Baekhyun’s eyes and his milky white cheeks that were now bruised purple. Red and blue lights flashed in the corner of his eye and they lit up the dark, disarranged room. Men and women dressed in uniform drifted from room to room in an attempt to investigate the shattered scene. Piles of ruined furniture were strewn all around. Nothing in the home was left unbroken.

A woman with torn cloths, messy hair, and a bruised lower lip joined Baekhyun against a wall and slid down beside him, weeping softly onto his shoulder. “I’m so sorry Baekhyun…” she sobbed and wrapped her arms around her child to comfort him. “Things shouldn’t have happened this way,” she began to become choked up over her words and she took a deep breath.

Baekhyun didn’t say a word. He lowered his head and stared down at the ground, letting his tears fall upon the hard wood. His entire body ached. He could feel his mother beginning to tremble and she snuggled closer to him. “It won’t happen again….” she stuttered and placed a warm kiss on his cheek. “I’m going to send you where he won’t find you,” she whispered. “Never again…”
