When Love Calls

Description

I once asked a friend, "What do you do when love calls?" and she replied with, "You just let it ring."

At that moment I didn't understand what she had meant and asked for an explanation. Instead, she laughed and teased me at my innocence. But shortly after, I started to realize what she meant. Love might've been the most beautiful thing in the world, but it could hurt horribly if everything went wrong. That was why, when love called, you're better to ignore it thinking it was a prank call.

It was good advice. But still, I couldn't help but to fall in love innocently.

Foreword

Hum… okay. Where should I start this story from?

Since I was born?

Nah… it’s too long to be told. It might bore you out.

Well, it’s just for short introduction. I was born in Jakarta, Indonesia. My mother is a Javanese woman and my father was a Chinese ethnic. I’m the oldest of three children. And, my dad had passed away when I was 14.

Or you might want to know the beginning of my turning point?

It’s kinda long too actually.

But well, let’s just say that it was a pure luck when I met Bae Yong Jun-ssi for the first time back in 2003. And it was also a pure luck when he noticed my talent as I sang on the street. As a scholarship student in Japan, my life wasn’t easy either. I earned some money for living through singing on the street at night and my part-time job on the 24-hours convenience store. So, when he approached me and offered me to join his company, I was shocked.

Eventually, I had to refuse the offer since I was bound to my scholarship contract. But he told me that he would wait for me. And starting from that moment, my life was drastically changed. Even though I had to go back to Indonesia as one of my scholarship’s conditions and was continuing my study on my previous university in Jakarta, I had settled my position as one of KeyEast Entertainment’s employees… or talents. I came and joined the company on mid 2006 when Yong Jun-ssi told me to create a plan of girl idol group as my first and only assignment ever. Of course, he would include me on the group.

Actually, I was feeling a little bit weird with the task. As you know, KeyEast Entertainment was a place for actors and actresses. Yet, he asked me to create a girl idol group… for music.

The question “why” was the first word that slipped from my lips after I heard his request.

But he just smiled gently as he leaned back on his chair. “Do you think it’s a challenge to create a music group among all those actors and actresses?”

It was indeed challenging. It didn’t answer my question at that moment. But afterward, I began to realize that he was creating a chance for me to develop my talents in Music. And, probably, he was also giving me a chance to make my dream come true as a singer.

So I started my quest to create a girl idol group on that day. But soon, I realized that I immediately faced my first difficulty. As KeyEast is a house of many actors and actresses, I was lacking on music talents. I told him about it and he assured me that it would be alright. He then asked me to look at a video of Kim Hyora; same age with me, Canadian nationality but a pure Korean girl, a dance trainer, choreographer and also an active trainee of JYP Entertainment.

I had known her as I had seen her few times when I came to JYPE Training Center. I was also a trainer myself, a vocal trainer to be precise, although I didn’t have formal title as vocal major graduated. Park Jin Young-sunbaenim told me that my experience as a choir member and a Japanese singer before were enough as references.

Ah, I forget to tell you that I was a singer in Japan, listed under AVEX Music Company. My debut and only song that I had there before my Korean debut was a theme song for Dragon Sakura drama, REALIZE. But it’s a secret if I sang the song. Mostly it was because of my scholarship contract.

And back to the story… after I officially met Hyora, I started to find other candidates for the group. I encountered many people during that time, including one very annoying person. He’s very annoying for me yet he stands on the most respectable place in Music Industry. But because of him, I manage to bring my girls as the most top Korean girl group in Global Music Industry, not even SNSD or Wonder Girls can defeat us. I both respect and hate him as he always makes my emotion switching between anger and awe. I have never known what he actually wants from me.

My name is Lia Santosa; born on 1982, Indonesian nationality, a writer, singer, music producer, vocal trainer and leader of a girl idol group, 7 Voices.

And this is my story… my only story of love.

Shall we go to the next chapter, please?

Author's Note:

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THIS STORY IS HAPPENING IN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE!!

The world is similar with ours. But nothing is real in this story. Kris had never been a CEO of S.M.E. & Co. and the son of S.M.E.'s owner. And the girls from 7 Voices are not actually existed. So don't mixed up with what has happened in our world even though I put on exact dates and years. And if there's one or more OC's names that really exist in this world, please forgive me. It's purely unintentional. But the songs that become 7's songs are really existing.

Subscribe if you want. But I want you to know that I don't know when I will update the chapter. Don't rush me, please. If you have questions or just want to talk with me, feel free to follow me on twitter @alize_sakura or @AFFalize_sakura

Enjoy the fic~ :)
