Byun Baekhyun didn’t know what had possessed him to do it. In retrospect, if he had never been an inquisitive little , he wouldn’t be landing himself in hot water years later. But Baekhyun was (and sadly, is still is) a curious guy by nature.

                He still vaguely remembers approaching the wailing boy in the playground, wondering how someone could make that much noise.

“Hey, shut up, my ears hurt from your crying.” (Baekhyun was already a cheeky er at eight years old. He didn’t grow out of it, unfortunately.)

The sobbing boy looks up from his crossed arms, tears and snot mixed up and smeared all over his chubby face, glasses askew. He sees Baekhyun in all his pissed glory and holds back the tears already on the verge of falling. “I-I’m sorry –hic- it’s just my- my pet fe-ferret passed away today.”

Baekhyun doesn’t even pretend to look sympathetic as he says, “Oh boohoo. He’s in ferret heaven now, I don’t see what you have to cry over. Now I need a subject and you’re the only one here, so get up and play with me.”

Baekhyun becomes a Prince who orders a super sad Park Chanyeol around that fateful day.

 It was also the start of everything, because they’ve never been not together since.
