“Yes, your eyes do sparkle*...” he looks at her incredulously and she does him. She grins when he says it again because this time she hears his accent.

“You’re not from around here are you?” she looks into his doe eyes that sparkled underneath the stars, and a smile that radiated so brightly.

“No, I’m from China” he scratches the back of his head.

“What’s your name?” she asks him, still juggling her books in her arms.

“Lu-han – you?”

She laughs “Cho-rong”

“Can you do me a favour?” he clasps his hands together and rests his chin comfortably on them. He waits for a response and when she nods he proceeds with his question “Can you ask me a personal question?”

Her eyes widen and she nods her head unsure but still with a smile on her lips. “What do you miss most about home?” she says after much deliberation

“Home?” he pauses for a bit “I miss my mother’s cooking, and my best friend who used to play soccer with me.”

“Meniere’s Disease” the doctor says with finality. The words foreign to both of them, but anything with disease after can’t be a good thing. Chorong wonders who wants to be named after a disease, finder, carrier or whatever.  “It’s the reason why you’ve been having so many migraines, why you keep falling over and why you’re losing your hearing.”

“Is there a cure?” Chorong asks nervously

“No definite cure, but there are ways we can alleviate the pressure, and reduce the chances of an attack”

“Is it permanent?” Luhan asks

“It can be”
