The earlier days when he dated her, Sehun felt rather grateful. He was living in heaven. She was a cutiepie who’s really shy and new from the experience of dating. He liked teaching her about how it should be for a couple, like skinships and dates. He loved watching her face turned red as he came closer to plant a soft kiss on her cheek. But Oh Sehun is living in hell now. No, his girlfriend didn’t change into a and left him alone. No, that girl can’t possibly do that kind of thing. His girlfriend, Oh Hayoung hadn’t changed. In fact, she doesn’t change at all.

She still backs away when he came closer to her. She still stutters in her every word when he talked to her. She still looks away when he gazed into her face. She hasn’t change at all though they have been dating for quite a while now.

“Hey, Oh Hayoung,” a really tall man called as he stepped closer into her sitting figure. She was sitting all alone in the cafeteria like always, like when before he dated her. The man quickly took a sit in front of her while putting his food down on the table.

“Chanyeol-sshi,” she bowed her head slightly.

“See? That’s your problem. No wonder he’s acting that way towards you,” the man sighed. Hayoung tilted her head in confusion. He was just arrived and yet he already attacked her.

“Pardon me?”

Chanyeol sighed again. “You and your manner. I’m not saying manner is a bad thing, Hayoung-ah, but we’ve known each other since you dated Sehun. I thought you already think of me as your brother,” he slightly pouted.

“I am,” Hayoung nodded her head.

“Then you should just call me ‘oppa’ like I’ve told you before. Do you even know why Sehun didn’t come to eat with you anymore?”

Hayoung shook her head slowly. She really didn’t know and didn’t even think about it. Lied. She actually thought about it once but she convinced herself that he’s just busy with his works and got no time to go to the cafeteria. He’s in the senior year, anyway.

“Because he’s scared. He’s afraid to see you.”

“Afraid of me? Why?” It actually shocked her when Chanyeol said that Sehun is afraid of her. What have she done that made him afraid of her?

“He’s afraid he would be hurt if he saw you. He love you so much, Hayoung-ah. But he didn’t think you love him back.”

“That’s—that’s a lie! You know I love Sehun oppa too!”

For the third time since he sat down, Chanyeol sighed again. “I know and I tried to say that to him. But he didn’t bother it and kept the thought that you only accept him back then when he asked you out just because you pitied him.”

“Well, that’s not true. I also liked Sehun oppa, that’s the reason why I said yes. How would he think of something like that?” Hayoung was confused now. She didn’t know that Sehun could think that way about her, about their relationship.

“Then tell him. Tell him why you accept him. Tell him how you felt about him. Tell him that. Or you’re gonna lose him.”

“How..? You said yourself that he didn’t want to see me. He’s—he’s afraid of me!”

“This Saturday, go on a date with him. Be a different person. Be a girl who’s not afraid of the world, be a girl who will make her boyfriend happy no matter what. Leave your old, timid, and shy self. Be active, be brave. And then tell him. Tell him that you love him,” Chanyeol explained.

“Got that?” he asked again, just to make sure.

Hayoung nodded, slowly getting the problem that made Sehun acted that way towards her. “Yes, oppa.”

Hayoung’s POV

On a morning that is especially sunny, today is the day I meet you. There are so many outfits that I picked out last night. But what do I wear to look even prettier?

Checking the outfit that I finally chose for the last time in front of the mirror, I feel slightly anxious about this date. It’s been so long since Sehun and I went out and that last time didn’t end out really well actually. I had to go home just to help my mom with some things and I’m sure he felt disappointed about that though he didn’t say it.

After biding my parents a goodbye, I stepped out into the place I told him we should meet. I just couldn’t ruin this date or I’ll lose him forever. Chanyeol oppa was right, there’s a problem in our relationship. And that problem is me.

All this time Sehun tried his best to be a good boyfriend while I was just being my too-shy-too-see-the-world self. I didn’t even act like having a boyfriend. But I’ve changed—thanks to Chanyeol’s explanation—to be a better one, a better girlfriend for him. I’ve prepared everything, even reminding myself to not be a passive girlfriend again and do my best when I met him. I just hope he would be there, waiting for me.

Oh my boy, oh my love. Now I’m on my way to meet you. I wore pretty shoes and a pretty skirt. When I see you, I will brightly smile.

Just wait a little more, Sehun oppa. I will definitely change and be the girl you always wanted me to be!

Sehun arrived late that time. Not usual, since he’s always arriving first before the girl did. But after 15 minutes of waiting, he finally appeared, looking good as always. He slowly walked to the place where Hayoung had waited for him, and could see the girl’s back facing him as she sat down on one of the benches inside the park.

His heart started to beat faster. Could it be that time? The time when she ends everything with him? If it’s a yes then he didn’t want to be here. He’s just couldn’t accept it if she wanted to break up with him.

“H-Hayoung-ah,” Sehun could hear his own voice choke up in his throat. But when she turned around, she was smiling brightly at him. A smile that he couldn’t bear not to see anymore.

“Sehun oppa, you’re here!” the girl practically jumped into him and hugged him tight. Could she be doing this just to make a good last memory?

”Come on, let’s start our date!” Hayoung dragged him and both went into the cinema to watch a movie.

Hayoung is trying her best to conquer her shyness and be more active. She even did a lot of skinship to him. But she couldn’t hide the fact that she knew something wrong is going on with Sehun. He seemed down, even his smiles before were just plainly fake smiles. Even when they went to his favorite bubble tea shop, he would usually smile brightly and Hayoung could see twinkles in his eyes. But the twinkles didn’t appear now. All that appears is just wariness and sadness.

“Oppa, I have something to say to you,” she said when she couldn’t take his strange behavior anymore. They were sitting down in their meeting place, the park, which also the place where he first confessed to her.

Ding. That’s it. That’s the words. She’s gonna start the breaking up speech and Sehun really didn’t want to hear it. He should try to postpone it as long as he could.

“Uhm, Hayoung-ah, what do you think about the movie? I don’t know why but it’s so funny when the zombie actually—”

“Oppa, I said I have something to say,” the girl cut his words effortlessly.

“But the zombie…”

In his mind, Sehun kept saying, “No, I don’t wanna hear your words” and “Stop saying anything that breaks my heart”. But he just couldn’t say it out loud. Maybe he’s not as good as he thinks as a boyfriend. He’s a coward, yes, he’s sure of it now.

“Hayoung-ah, can I at least…” and his face became closer to her. At least he should get one last kiss if she really wanted to part away with him.

There again. His lips are getting closer and closer to hers. Heart beat risen up, face turning red. What should she do? Hayoung is panicking right now. She knew she shouldn’t be. He’s her boyfriend, anyway. But seeing his handsome face so close to her right now, she couldn’t help it.

And then their lips met.

A sudden strange feeling rushing up inside Sehun’s body and he knew he couldn’t let her go. Not right now.

“Please don’t, Hayoung-ah. I don’t want to leave you and I don’t want you to leave me either. Let’s stay together, even though you didn’t like me as much as I do. But please, I couldn’t live without you.”

Hayoung blinked few times. Did he just think that she would leave him? This boy? This guy who bravely asked her out, who bravely taught her everything about anything to be a couple? This guy who didn’t scare even if he was chased by his scary looking fan-girls? This guy who is so smart that she felt rather a dumb- when she was with him? This Oh Sehun?

Hayoung couldn’t help but letting out a giggle escape . Her Oh Sehun is indeed scared of the thought that she didn’t love him back. And she found it cute.

“Why are you laughing?”

“Oppa is too……………. cute,” she couldn’t find a word to describe him fully. “Hey, who said I don’t like you? Did someone ever tell you that?”

Sehun slowly nodded. “Kyungsoo hyung told me so.”

He’s too cute.

“Then don’t believe him! You heard it from someone else, not me!”

“But do you feel the same as me? Do you have the same heart?” Sehun asked. His cheeks burning up as he felt rather embarrassed that she called him cute.

“My love is really you, my everything is really you,” she smiled sweetly at him. “I actually wanted to say that before you refuse to hear that.”

Now, it’s Sehun’s time to blush madly. Hayoung couldn’t help but laugh seeing her usually cool boyfriend turned as red as tomato. “You are indeed a cutie, Oh Sehun.”

It was usually crowded every weekend nights with people as some bands will be playing in it. And his girlfriend was actually offering herself to give out a performance. His shy and timid girlfriend.
