SUMMARY

Jose has lived his entire life as an obese guy yet with a big  heart and shy personality. He is giving and loves everyone who treats him well. He meets Baekhyun, a more good-looking and stand-off kind of guy. Ace never once was able to fit in without acting like an obnoxious fellow to create and enhance his love for attention. He pines for Kyungsoo, the innocent and strong male who never once admits to return his feelings to his face. Jose somewhat looks for things to change, Ace proves him wrong.

- Prologue -

    With the hot sun in the normal summer day of '06 were four guys, having usual coca colas outside of one of their houses, the green grass of the backyard fresh and moist. The birds were still the annoying as hell chirping bastards that always made Ace, the "class-clown" at the time, groan and throw his hot Cheetos in their directions. Baekhyun, the forever beautiful lad with the shining face was sitting right beside Jose, the foreign guy with the biggest heart around. He has lost ten pounds the whole month and didn't think it would hurt to enjoy a soda. He looked to his side, hand reaching up to shield his eyes from the sun's beam, only to chuckle at the mushy couple Joonmyun and Yixing. Joonmyun always had the one-thousand kilo-watt smile, beaming like it was the best Goddamn day of his life. Beside him was his best friend and Chinese-boyfriend Yixing, who had the dimples of a cutie-pie and dancing skills of a pro. And when Jose looked towards the polar opposite duo consisting of loopy-Chanyeol and reserved-Jongin, he sighed in peace.

    Everything was perfect, and then Kyungsoo came into the backyard. He had his well-made kimbap in pink and yellow lunchboxes for everyone, small smile and wide-eyes. The first to help him carry them in of course was Jongin, the guy who didn't even realize his feelings for the adorable kid. But the first to actually greet, or more so flirt, with him was Ace, shoving a can of pop into his hands.

    "You don't like coke, so I got you three cans of orange soda." Ace smiled that knowing smile that made Kyungsoo scoff but at the same time make him feel grateful Ace existed. "Come on, I even saved your seat for you." He pulled Kyungsoo away, his forever confident stride pushing passed Jongin like it was nobody's business.

    Everyone knew Ace's enormous crush on Do Kyungsoo, everybody who knew Ace or Kyungsoo at least. Ace would do absolutely anything for Kyungsoo, except move on. Kyungsoo always rejected him, mostly because Ace was a pest and an out-going kind of guy. The least had to be because everyone always thought Ace would get over him. They all waited until the day they got together happily, or Ace looked back years later and laughed at himself for being Kyungsoo's personal slave.

    Jose however, wouldn't want to take another day of his choice in any way possible. Even though the small tension between Ace in love with Kyungsoo, Kyungsoo's interest in Jongin, and Jongin's clueless leading-on acts, Jose wouldn't want anything any other way. Everything was perfect, their days of high school, innocent than what was to come. With Baekhyun and his annoyance about his eyeliner, Jongin's forever cold look, Chanyeol never knowing when to stop talking or ing, Joonmyun and Yixing blushing and holding hands, Ace with a cigarette in his mouth 24/7, Kyungsoo always offering food to everyone. Jose would have settled always being his weight, always being bullied for his looks, never having the courage to ask Baekhyun to be his boyfriend, than to ever live on another day.

    If he could stop time, that would be the day he'd want to stay in forever, only he didn't know it until the day he lost his best friend. No one did.
