I didn't expect this. I didn't expect to be left alone at the age of sixteen, I really didn't. Watching everyone and everything you love die or crash down right before your eyes. Ever since the cordyceps fungus started spreading around making people sick, causing them to turn against their own. That's what happened to my friends and family. I feel guilty. I wished I could've been the one that died instead, but I guess thats just asking for too much in this kind of situation.

 

But on the upside I learned to fend for myself; making explosives, handmade blades, medic kits with just a rag and alcohol, it's not all that but...it's something. After the infection started the supplies became scarce, and you see what people were really capable of; killing innocent survivors then looting, or resorting to cannibalism eating their own friends. Leaving all theirs morals to survive.

 

Well that's all I saw when I was staying at one of the quarantine zones. There were hardly any rations. Most of the time the military were keeping it for themselves until they finally decided to abandon us. Leaving us. They threw away what ever hope they had left. They gave up on us. 

 

But I didn't want to stay there with those damn cannibals so I left to venture what was happening outside of the quarantine zone. To survive or finally meet my end.
