Adversus. [Super Junior Writing Contest.]
Description
Adversus is a Latin word meaning opposite or oppossing, which is the theme of this particular writing contest. In this contest you will have to choose one of the prompts listed in foreword and a couple from Super Junior and twist the personalities of the characters around so that they're the opposite of how they normally are.
For example, you could write a HanChul story where Han Geng is the snarky and arrogant one and Heechul is very softspoken and patient, or a KangTeuk where Kangin is really shy and very non-confrontational and Leeteuk is the manliest man alive. Whatever you do, I have to see that the characters have clearly switched their normal personas/personalities.
Rules/Things To Note:
1) It has to be at least 2,000 words in length. Drabbles are interesting and often times have more emotion than full-length novels, but they won't win for this contest.
2) It can't be more than 5 chapters long, so if you end up with this huge story that you don't want to cut anything out of, make long chapters.
3) No being disrespectful to any judges or other participants. You will immediately be removed from the contest and your fic won't be read by any of the judges.
4) Subscribe to this contest story if you plan on entering so that I have a rough idea of how many people want to do this.
5) You can use any genre, including , but your story still has to use the theme and have a good plot to get a good score, so no PWP. Also, your story doesn't have to have a happy ending. It can and you won't get points off either way, but it doesn't have to, so tragedy writers are welcome.
6) You also don't have to have any romance in the story. You can have the main characters be siblings, parent and child, colleagues at work, or just good friends if you'd like.
7) Genderbending is allowed.
8) You don't absolutely have to use a prompt, but if you don't you will be graded entirely on how different your characters are from their usual personas.
9) You MUST grammar/spell check your entries. A few mistakes won't hurt you, but we have to be able to understand the story. If your first language isn't English and you aren't sure of your grammar/spelling, message myself or Aya-Chi and we'll see what we can do to help you out without being unfair to the other contestants.
10) You can have cameos from other idols or characters, just as long as the two main characters are the two from Super Junior that you choose.
11) Please remember that there are fifteen members of Super Junior and that there are plenty of wonderful pairings that could use a little more love from the fandom.
Those are the only rules/notes for now, but more may be added if I see fit. There is no deadline for this contest yet,but once we start getting entires we'll set one up.
