Revelation

A couple days passed with Yuri always going over to the house to spend time with Jenni along with Hyorin. Each time she went over there, Jimin would leave the house and wouldn’t go back till after Yuri had left and it was the same with Seulong. But Yuri didn’t even notice that small detail. It didn’t dawn on her at all that she was slowly breaking a family apart.

They were currently admiring Jenni in her cheerleading uniform that she received earlier at school. It looked absolutely cute on the little girl. Both women couldn’t help but fawn over her as they constantly took pictures.

“You’ll be there won’t you auntie?” Jenni asked with hopefulness. “Of course dear. I wouldn’t miss seeing your first cheer event for anything.”

“Don’t forget it’s also for Jimin oppa’s game too.”

“Right. Of course it is,” Yuri smiled sweetly but in all honesty she could care less about the little boy who continued to disrespect her. “I also have a surprise for you on that day,” Yuri patted Jenni’s hand with excitement showing in her eyes. “Really? What is it?” Jenni didn’t really like surprises much. “I can’t tell you till that day or it won’t be a surprise right?”

Jenni agreed even though she just wanted to know what the surprise was already. “Jen-jen go ahead and go play outside with your oppa, okay?” Hyorin hugged her daughter before sending her off. Lately Jenni noticed that she would hug her or hold her all the time whenever she could. But she didn’t think much of it, she thought it was just her mom being, well a mom.

As soon as Jenni was out the door Hyorin’s smile vanished and she turned toward Yuri. “What are you planning to do now?”

“I have to be back in America by Sunday. As you know, Junsu left the day he came here and talked to you and I have to go back to him,” Yuri replied with a hard tone. The happiness both women were feeling a second ago left with Jenni out the door.

Hyorin sat down, knowing what was coming next. “Hyorin-ah, I’m taking Jenni with me,” Yuri looked straight into Hyorin’s pain filled eyes. So the time has come, Hyorin thought to herself as she tried to swallow the lump in .

“I know this was sooner than expected but like I said before she can always come back and you can always keep in touch with her if you’d like. I’ve come to accept the fact that she’ll never be able to let you guys go but I hope you can also accept that I need her with me.”

“But she thinks you’re her auntie. How are we going to continue like this when all she knows are lies?”

Yuri sighed, “We’ll figure something out in time. But for now I’m bringing her with me.”

Hyorin didn’t say anything. She was slowly trying to get a hold of her emotions so that they wouldn’t overcome her anymore. But right now everything was a mess and something was telling her that things were only about to get even messier. Will we ever be able to clean this up?

“Oppa look I got my uniform?” Jenni skipped happily over to the boys who were sitting in the Kim’s backyard. “Wow Jenni! You look like a girl,” Jungkook as usual couldn’t help but tease his best friend.

Jenni ignored him and looked to Jimin and Taehyung for their opinions. “You look the same as always,” Taehyung replied before whispering at the end, “pretty.”

Jimin just continued to stare at Jenni with only one thought running through his head, she’s not my sister... “What Taehyung said,” he told Jenni while looking down.

Everyone was shocked at his answer. Usually he would tell her she was ugly even though he didn’t mean it but this was the first he actually admitted out loud that he thought she was pretty.

Jenni couldn’t help but beam happily, “komawo oppa.”

“Hey I said you looked pretty too how come I don’t get a thank you?” Taehyung feigned being hurt. Jenni blushed before she thanked him quietly.

All four kids then decided to play games to pass time before they had to go in for dinner. They split into teams and decided to hide flags in their own backyards and then go searching for the other team’s flag in their backyard. Whoever found a flag first and brought it home would be the winner. Jenni and Jimin were on the same team and had to hide their flag (which was just a piece of paper with their last name on it) in their backyard. While Taehyung and Jungkook hid their flag (that had their own last name on it) in their backyard. When each team was done hiding their flag they had to meet up in the front yards before starting the game.

It didn’t take long to hide the flags and pretty soon all four kids were in the front yard. “Ready. Set. Go!” Taehyung yelled out before dashing into the Park’s backyard with Jeongkook as Jimin and Jenni ran into the Kim’s.

In the Park’s backyard Taehyung and Jungkook split up in search of the flag while in the Kim’s backyard, Jimin and Jenni stuck together while looking. Both teams rushing to find the flag first.

Jimin wasn’t all that into the game and just followed Jenni around as she looked high and low for the flag. He thought she looked cute as she continued to pout and scratch her head while glancing around. He couldn’t help but feel sad and also wonder about something.

Jenni stopped looking and turned around to see Jimin staring at her but it seemed as if he wasn’t really looking at her. Like his mind was somewhere else while his eyes were on her. She walked up to him slowly and confirmed that his thoughts weren’t in the game as he didn’t even blink when she was standing right in front of him. “Oppa what’s wrong?” Jimin blinked a couple times before focusing his gaze on Jenni, “Jen-jen what would you do if I wasn’t your brother? Would you still love oppa?”

“Of course I would. I would be sad that you couldn’t be my brother but I would still love you oppa,” was Jenni’s instant reply.

Jimin unexpectedly pulled Jenni closer and hugged her around her shoulders. He couldn’t help but smile to himself a little. “You wouldn’t have to be sad Jen-jen because brother or not I will always be here for you.”

Jenni lightly patted him on his back, “I know oppa.”
