Kai sat back on his seat, exhaling tiredly. It’s been 3 hours since the fansign started and he was exhausted. And the other EXO members weren’t helping either.

“Yah! Kai, is it different to have such dark skin?” Chanyeol cracked, loud enough for the fans to hear. Attention was set on him again. Kai clenched in teeth in annoyance, but kept a smile on his face

“It must be so fun!” he continued, “You can go out all you want at night and no fans would notice you”

The crowd laughed and Kai laughed along, though he was glaring at Chanyeol in the inside. He was going to far with his skin-tone jokes.

“Haha, yes it is” Kai said “I don’t have to worry about the press catching me. I am as free as I want to be when it’s night time!”

“Haha! It’s because no one can see you!” Chanyeol said, stating the obvious

“Yeah…” Kai sighed.

“Uhmm, can you sign this please?” a girl said softly. Kai was reminded that the fansign was still going on. He looked at the girl and examined her. She had long black hair and bangs that covered her face slightly. She handed him an EXO poster with all 12 of them in it

Kai gave her a charming smile, “What’s your name?” he asked

“K-Kyumi” she said. Kai had to strain his ears to hear her. She spoke so softly.  

“Alright then, Kyumi. Here’s your poster” He dragged it from his side to hers. “Do you have anything else?”

“A-ah, yeah…” she said “Umm, I just wanted to say that-“

Kai prepared himself for an overly cheesy confession. He always got those. But he was pleasantly surprised,

“I like your skin colour. It’s really nice” she said, surprising him. His eyes widened and he watched the girl, but he wouldn’t look at her “Don’t listen to everyone else. You’re not even that dark” The girl looked up at him and smiled widely.

Kai examined for a second. She was as pale as Sehun and Luhan. He gave her a small smile, “That’s weird coming from a pale girl like you” he said. “Are you sure you aren’t lying?” The girl continued smiling,

“You looked upset when Chanyeol-sshi kept on saying those jokes” she said “I just wanted to say that I don’t care about your skin color. I like it, but that isn’t why I’m a fan of yours. I couldn’t care less if you were dark or whatever people call you”

 Kai said nothing.

She bowed “That’s all” she said “It was nice meeting you, Kai-sshi”

She left and Kai was left dumbfounded. ‘What the…’ He followed the girl with his eyes as she walked away. She was clutching the poster to her chest. He could see her ears were red.

‘What was that…?’ he questioned himself.

“A-ah, Kai-oppa please sign this!”

Kai looked back and remembered that there were still fans leftover. He gave the fan a smile “What’s your name?”

“Tired already, Kai?” Suho pipped, noticing Kai’s daze “Don’t worry. We’re just about finished”

Kai shook his head, coming out of his revere. His eyes trailed over the crowd of fans and he squinted his eyes ‘Where is she?’

“Kai, is there something wrong? Are you okay?” Suho continued. Kai looked at him and smiled sheepishly

“No, I’m fine hyung. Thanks” he said “I’m just looking for someone…”

Suho smirked “Met a fan you fancied?” he said playfully

Kai nodded absent-mindedly “Yeah… you could say that”

Suho laughed “I didn’t know you were into the fans” he said “Was she pretty?”

Kai wasn’t listening though. His eyes travelled across the fans until he spotted a small girl who was the only one not jumping and screaming. She stood out against all the girls who were busy fangirling. She had long black hair that covered her face, so Kai couldn’t see it. But he was sure it was her.

“Attention, ladies! Time is now up. The fansign is over” the announcer shouted “Thank you for coming”

The girls started screaming even louder and they hurried to run to EXO. Kai’s eyes widened as the girl he was watching was getting trampled over by the crazy fans.

“H-hey, watch it!” Kai said, walking around the table to run to the girl. She was pushed to the floor and Kai watched as she struggled to get up. 

But before he could reach her, fans bombarded him with screams and cries. All of them shouting his name “Kai! I love you!”

Kai cursed and ignored the fangirls. He pushed forward. EXO looked at him confusedly. Suho looked at the others and they sighed

“Let’s go help him” DO said, standing up. Everyone else joined him

Kai was struggling through the crowd of girls. The announcer was telling the girls to calm down, but they were just doing the exact opposite.

“” he cursed “Where is she?”

He pushed through the crowd. “Ah! Sehun!” the girls screamed, running to the side “DO!”

Kai let out a breath in relief as the girls around him lessened. It was now easier to push through. He scanned the floor and his eyes met the girl. He grinned to himself and pushed forward to approach her

“H-hey!” He wracked his mind for her name “Kyumi!”

The girls’ eyes snapped up at the shout of her name and her eyes widened at the sight of Kai. He let out his hand for her to grab and he pulled her up. He was grinning at her

“Kai-sshi” she muttered, looking up at him with big surprised eyes “What are you…”

“I’ve never met a fan so formal before” he said, grinning “Kai. Everyone calls me Kai”

The girl gulped “Kai..” she said

Kai smiled “I just wanted to say thank you. For what you said” He squeezed her hand and patted her head “I’ve never met a fan like you. I wish all them were just as polite as you”

The girl laughed “T-thank you” she said “And no problem”

“Kai! We have to get out of here!” Suho shouted, gaining his attention. “Manager-hyung is calling for us already. We’re going to be late for the shoot”

Kai cursed. He forgot. His day wasn’t over just yet. He still had a magazine shooting for who-know’s-who. He looked back at the girl, who was flustered and he realized he was still holding onto her hand. He smirked

“I guess I’ll see you around, Kyumi” he winked. “You’re going to be at other events, right?”

Kyumi grinned “I’ll try my best”

Kai left the fansign happy. Baekhyun raised his brow at the unusually quiet boy

“Tired already?” he said “We still have another schedule to go to”

Kai shook his head. “I think I just…” he said. Baekhyun rasied his brow

“You just what?”

“I think I just met my favorite fan” 

Just thought of something and I wanted to write it down.
