My everything

Description

She was my everything, and I was her nothing.

Her name isn't important to you, nor should it be to me but it is. This is, my first love story.

I was 17 years old and a . Something none of my friends would or could understand, which is exactly why I never told them. They all assumed I had done it a long time ago. Why? It's simple. I was a legendary sweet-talker. Not a girl I couldn't smooth over. I was as sweeter than a cupcake, so sweet that I was the cause of diabetes. I'm just kidding, but I was good. I didn't care much for girls, I mean sure I wanted a girl but I didn't really want a girlfriend. The thought of spending ridiculous amounts of money over a girl who would probably end up hating me 2 or 3 months later after we broken up was something I'd rather forget. All my mates had their girlfriends and I would see them spending dosh every week just to keep her happy. Taking her out and paying for everything. Then there's the gifts and stupid anniversaries. What is the point, she's just a girl. That's what I thought.

I met her at a barbeque birthday party. She was quiet and very shy so I didn't notice her at all. Halfway in I offered to help cook because I was too tired to swim and wanted a quick feed. She was cooking the meat when I offered to help. So my mate let me take over. I introduced myself and she did the same. I squealed as the oil splattered and hit my arm. She walked off. I thought she was going to laugh at me but a couple seconds later she reappears with a tissue. I thank her and we continue cooking. I start looking at her, she was very skinny and probably only 14 or 15 years old. She wasn't very pretty, not my type. So I continue cooking. As I was getting some food for myself I looked over at her. She was very quiet, barely said a word.

"Want to eat?" I asked her.

She nods. So I grab some more stuff and place it on my plate. We then both head to sit on the grass. We ate, mostly in silence with the odd conversation here and there. She was pleasent to talk to. I didn't hit on her, I didn't see the need to. We were talking about the weird noises at night that happen and she was telling me how once she thought she heard someone trying to break into the house so she hid in the cupboard. I chuckled and said I thought it was cute. She just looked at me grumpily but I knew she wasn't upset as there was a slight smile appearing on her face. We kept talking for what seemed like ages but was only a couple of minutes. Then it was time to pack up and head to watch a movie. For some reason, when we started walking towards the cinemas I lingered around her. Until she slowed down and we walked together. She was pretty cute I guess now that I looked at her again. Her skin was flawless, and she has the biggest and most adorable eyes ever.

"So," I started.. "How old are you?"

"I'm 14" she replied.

Damn, she was young. Maybe too young. We didn't sit together in the cinemas. I sat with my mates and she was with her friends. Afterwards the group split up and I went home. She was going home too, we ended up catchin the same train. So we sat together.

To be continued.

Foreword

I can't erase her from my mind no matter how much I try. Time will heal a thousand injuries but heartache stays forever.
