A story in verse

Where am I?
This foreign place
Where all that exists
Is you. Only you.

I would describe it
If it had something more
Than lanes and alleys
In perfect form
Of you.

This place, this world,
I'm stuck in.
But do I want to leave?
Will I manage to return?
If I shut this out - if I shut you out,
Will I have abandoned you?
Will you fade from existence
To me, as to them?

Where are you?
My dilemma is pain.
I need you here
In truth, not dream,
To cover all the pain.

You are with me
In this foreign land,
Where all that exists
Is me, only me.

You are nowhere,
A projection of my dreams,
So I full my world
With tokens of
What once was.
Of what could have been.

My shrine to you

I am here
Waiting for my dream to fail,
And wincing at your final, eternal demise
Eternal rest
Requiem aeternam dona eis
And let the perpetual light shine on you
Et lux perpetua luceat eis
