Sometimes Lay wonders why he puts up with Kris.

Kris is lazy and loud. His mandarin even though it’s his first language and he spaces out all the time. He hogs the blankets at night and takes too long to get ready for bed. He complains about everything (but only to Lay) and gets mad anytime he tells Kris to clean up after himself.

Kris likes to tell Lay he nags too much. Well Lay thinks he wouldn’t nag so much if Kris would listen to him the first three times he said something. But with Kris it’s always in one ear and out the other. At least that’s how it is when it comes to Lay.

Lay wonders why he puts up with Kris a little more than sometimes.

But then Kris will wrap his arms around him and sway him from side to side. He’ll hold him close and whisper words of love into Lay’s ear. He’ll keep him warm and safe and make sure Lay knows just how much he loves him.

Lay wonders why he puts up with Kris, but he always knows the answer.
