String of Fate
Description
Jessica and Taecyeon were the couple of their high-school in America. Taecyeon was the school's football team quarterback, while Jessica was one of the popular crew of her school. Sure there had been many other high-school couples, but nothing beat the two. But in the start of their Junior year, Jessica's family goes bankrupt and she moves to Korea, cutting all contact they had previously.
Ah but is it fate? After 8 years, they reconcile, by chance, when they realize that they are neighbours in an officetel.

Jessica (Sooyeon) Jung
She's cold. And haughty. Indifferent. Unemotional. But only to people that she doesn't know. When she opens up, she has a whole new personality. She's dorky, funny, adorable, weird- there is no word to exactly describe her. And that's why Taecyeon fell for her. He saw that side of her, and he didn't want to let go. No, he still doesn't want to let go.
Her new life in Korea had been hard. Her whole family had lived in a one-room apartment, and adjusting into a Korean high-school definitely had not been an easy thing. But she pulled through, received full scholarship for her university education, and now she is a sub-editor for Vogue Korea.
Taecyeon Ok;
Friendly, fun, easygoing, hot, pretty much the perfect boyfriend material. On top of that, he's the heir of HYESUNG group, one of the top hotel companies in Korea. He was sent to America to go live with his uncle and aunt, while his parents stayed in Korea to run the company. He had always been a little distant from his parents because of that. Jessica was the girl that healed his broken heart. So when she suddenly breaks up with him and disappears from his life, he is angry, and devastated. Since then, he hasn't been able to keep a steady relationship with a girl.
After graduating from Yale, he came back to Korea to work for his dad in HYESUNG.
Kai (Jongin) Kim;
Jessica's current boyfriend. Model and photographer; is highly requested for his foreign unique look. He's younger than Jessica by 3 years, secretly hates it whenever she brings up anything age-related, yet is still hopelessly in love with her. His personality is rather similar to hers; seemingly cold, but caring, affectionate and cheeky towards people he likes. He will do anything, be anything for Jessica.
Foreword
"Taecyeon, I'm breaking up with you." Jessica said as they pulled apart from a sweet kiss. He was dropping her off at her house, like always.
"Why? Am I that much of a bad kisser?" He whined childishly.
"No, today's our 364th day together." She said in a matter-of-fact tone. "I never date guys for longer than a year. I'm breaking up with you."
"What kind of a stupid rule is that?" He frowned, finally realizing the cold atmosphere. "Wait, you're not serious, right? I'm different. You said so. Remember?"
"I said that, but I can be wrong. You're not. You're just like all the others" She replied coldly, looking straight into her eyes.
"Look, just tell me what I did. I'll fix it. I'll make it up to you." He pleaded.
She looked away. "It's alright. Save it. I'm going." She unbuckled herself and got off the car. "Don't follow me. I hate clingy guys." She walked away cooly, not looking back once.
He stared at her, not quite sure how he had ruined it all. Empty, he took out a box from the front drawer. He opened it slowly, and the ring he had prepared for their one-year anniversary glinted in the sunset. He his bottom lip slowly, lost in thought, tasting the residue of her chapstick. He sighed, and got out of the car, with the box still in his hand. He left it on her doorstep, hoping she'll change her mind should she find it.
Then he drove off, with her words still ringing inside his ears.

It was past 2AM but he was still awake, staring at the ceiling in darkness. His phone vibrated suddenly from his bedside table. Hoping sincerely that it was Jessica, he reached for it.
It was a message from her. Half nervous and half elated, he clicked on it.
'I know you probably think I am the most selfish on the planet, and you're right. I am. I was going to let things go like this. But, you, out of all people, deserved the truth. My family went bankrupt a few days ago, and we're moving back to Korea to start over. I didn't know how to break it to you, or to anyone else for that matter, so I ended up staging that horrible break up. The reason was so stupid and dumb, but I couldn't think of a better one. Today was my last day of school, and I'm in the airport now just about to board the plane. I just wanted things to be normal, you know? Live the fantasy a little longer. I know that's really selfish of me, but I'm sorry. I didn't know how to handle the whole situation, it was just too overwhelming. I took the ring you left on my doorstep. I know I shouldn't have, but... I just wanted something to cherish the memories of us. Thank you for everything. You have been the most wonderful boyfriend anyone could hope for. I'll miss you.'
He blinked in disbelief. The love of his life, the girl who had made his life in America endurable, even enjoyable, was leaving, just like that. His fingers trembled as he dialed her number.
"Hello?" Her voice whispered from the other side.
"Jess. You can't leave just like this. We can work something out. You could stay here. I could support you." He said quickly.
"I can't do anything about it. Nor can you. This is goodbye for us." Her voice quivered. "I really loved you. I lied, back in the car. I hope you knew that. You are different. You have been the most amazing and--"
"Hush, it's alright. Get out of the airport. I'll come and pick you up." He said as he got up and the lights.
"No, I'm going. You have to accept that. I'm sorry for everything. I've been such a bad girlfriend, always only thinking about myself."
"No, no, no. Don't say that. You have been perfect. Beyond perfect. I love you. I will always love you." He said, closing his eyes.
"I love you too. Bye. I'll miss you." She whispered, and hung up.
He tried to call her again, but the call wouldn't go through. He slammed the wall in frustration and sunk to the floor, his head in his hands, muttering, "You can't leave. You can't just leave like that. I'll find you. I'm going to find you, and everything's going to be alright again."

FIRST TAECSICA/KAISICA STORY!! I originally wanted to start this after finishing my other one, but that seemed like it had quite a while to go before I could wrap it up, so I guess I'm going to try and handle two stories at once??
