Letting go - Park Jung Min One shot

Description

Jung-min strolled into the room, tired as hell.  Today's schedule was hectic, no time for himself whasoever.  He headed directly for the shower.

Back on his bed, lay Yumi, his girlfriend of one year, who was faking sleep.  With her back facing the bathroom door, she lay on her side.  Closing her eyes, she thought about how tired Jung-min has been lately.  He was always coming home in the wee hours of the morning..

She heard the hair dryer, he was probably drying his hair.  She sighed.  She knew how tiring his job could be.  But it bothered her that he had lost some weight over the past few weeks.

Just then Jung-min opened the bathroom door.  Dressed in his PJs, he walked over to his girlfriend's side of the bed and knelt by her face.  She was so beautiful.  He kissed her forehead, switch off the dim light and plopped himself on bed.

"Already asleep" Yumi thought.  She her back and frowned.  Was living with her dull for Jung-min?  Did he miss his time with the guys at the dorm?  He was the first member to have a girlfriend and move out of the dorm they shared.  Was she not as fun as them?

Yumi gave a sarcastic smile in the dark.  "Just look at me!" she thought bitterly, "Paris's famous model and she was getting jealous of four guys!"  She turned towards Jung-min and looked at his outlined profile in the dark.  What have you done to me? she thought.

She remembered the first time they met.  Over a year ago she was on a modelling assignment in Singapore with her photographer friend, Antonio Debouze, shooting an ad for Jimmy Choo shoes.

***** Flashback*******

She was sitting near a fountain with ther strappy, diamon studded shoes when someone splashed water on her while dress.  She gasped and angrily turned around to see who it was.  A guy was playing with a little kid at the other end of the round fountain.  She could not see his face.

She heard them laugh, genuine laiughter and she got curious.  She took off her shoes and Antonio called for a break.  She walked barefoot round the fountain and she saw him.  He was tall, probably taller than her 1m67.  He had amazing facial features, well structured bones and looked so handsome playing with that little kid.

"He's probably Chinese" she thought and got another splash of water.  This time, he did notice and looked up.  He looked appologetic and Yumi smiled, which he kindly returned.

He was well dressed in suits, but he still played with the kid.  Looking at them, Yumi remembered her childhood days when she enjoyed the rain and playing in puddles.

On a whim, she walked towards them to play along.  However, she slipped and fell into the fountain.  Once she sat up, all drenched, she found them laughing and Yumi found herself thinking that was the most handsome smile she ever saw on a man.

He walked in to help her out, but he slipped and fell down too.  When he got up, they both laughed it off.  Since then they had become friends and close friends in over 3 months.  After dating for 8 months, they decided to move in together.  She was never that impulsive, but she felt this was just....right.  A feeling she could not describe.  But she felt it was meant to be.

****Present Day******

Yumi looked at Jung-min's sleeping profile and sighed.  "Am i really holding him back?" she thought and wrinkled her nose. She knew the guys were still out, probably partying or having fun at their dorm.  Jung-min was missing all of it.  Was it really time to leave? She thought sadly.

She went near him and lightly kissed his wonderful lips.  "Sarangheo" she whispered in his ear and quickly got up and left the room. Had she kept staring at his perfect features, she would never be able to leave.

She grabbed her suitcase which was already packed and kept in the kitchen and walked out her front door.

She dropped her bag on the stairs and just stared, gaping.

The whole front lawn was decorated with candles and lights and white/silver balloons.  The gazebo stood there, in the garden, white silk curtains and shining lights.  It looked like heaven at night!

As though in a daze, she walked slowly towards the Gazebo and to the single furniture inside it, the small white table.  There was only a little black box and she picked it up, her heart racing.

Was it a ring? She thought, delighted beyound measure.

She opened it and found nothing.  The disappointment made her lose her smile.  Was this Jung-min's idea of a joke?  Infuriated, she turned to walk inside the house and got her second shock of the night.

There he was, down on one knee, expertly dressed and looking heartstoppingly handsome, holding a ring between his fingers.

"Yumi, ours might not be the perfect love, i might not give you the time you deserve, you might not be the typical korean girl i wanted.  We might fight like cats and dogs" he said.  Was this a proposal? or just saying what she had been doubting all along?

However, his eyes shone with the moonlight.  "But you complete me in a way no one or nothing ever has.  You are my inspiration for moving on, for giving my best into everything.  You are the only person i want to see in my arms when i wake up.  And you are the only one who i wanna see at night when i come home. You are already MY woman, but, Ji Hoo Yumi, will you marry me?" he said and Yumi just gazed at him, tears flowing without her realising it.  In the far distant, she could hear her favorite Ss501 song playing.

Jung-min noticed her tears and stood up slowly.  When she still made no move, he took her hand and slipped her the ring.  When she continued to stare at the ring in her hand, Jung-min smiled and pulled her in for a hug.  One hand strong at her waist while the other her hair.

"I....love....You" she said in between sobs and Jung-min smiled.  He drew her clother and whispered only for her ears "You're MINE forever" Yumi hugged him close and simply cried.

Jung-min closed his eyes and smiled.  He could no believe his luck.  He was doing what he loved for a living and he had the girl he loved in his arms, his fiancee. Just perfect.

Soon enough, she came back to reality and realised she still had been holding on to Jung-min.  She broke the embrace and he kissed her forehead.  She the realized that the song was actually being sung by the members themselves.

She looked at them teary eyed.  They were smiling at her, with her.  They each came for a hug and celebratory drinks.

After whishing Jung-min and Yumi congratulations, the members went home.  Jung-min gently closed the door and turned to Yumi.  They both smiled at each other and Jung-min lifted her bridal style and walked into their bedroom.

He slowly put her down on bed and removed his tie.  Yumi watched the whole elegant process.  "You are sure about his?" she asked, motioning to her ring.

Jung-min plopped himself on bed and nodded.  "I want you forever"

"How did you know i was going to leave?" She ask curiously.  Jung-min smiled.  Oh that amazing smile that made Yumi's heart so happy.

Jung-min rolled towards her and cupped her face with his hand.  "You're face is an expression mirror." he said  "Whatever is going on here,"and touched her heart, "can be seen here" he said and kissed her forhead.

Yumi blushed.  "It has to.  How else am i a famous model?" she said jokingly, trying to dispel the awkwardness.

"Ex famous model" Jung-min said in a serious tone.

"Ex famous model" Yumi confirmed with a wistful smile.

"Do you regret giving up?" Jung-min asked.  He knew she was young and had she continued, she would have gone on to be really famous.  But he had wanted her all for himself.  It was a rare combination, a girl as beautiful as her, Korean American, a top model and a to top it off.  He had wanted to keep her all for himself.  Her naivety and sincerity brought out the protective instinct in him.

She shook her head.  "Not one bit.  Because all i want is to be yours.  To be known as Jung-min's wife, not as famous model Yumi." she said and kissed him.

He pulled her close "Never walk out on me" and kissed her.

"Never.  We are together forever and for always.  she promised.

Jung-min smiled and whispered close to her ear "For always" before covering them both under the cover and proving to her just how much he meant it.
