A Glitch in Time

Description

"It's so much darker when a light goes out than it would have been if it never shone."

- John Steinbeck

There were two boys. One with the faltering smile, one with the naïve one. New days arrived, and the same question would pop up in both their heads at the beginning of each one.

But why?, one of them wondered, each and every day. Each second was agonizing for him. The ticking of the clock hurt, almost as if the pointers were stabbing him with a pitying grin.

But why?, the other wondered, each and every day. He wandered around without a clue, without a hint, without any kind of knowledge.  His eyes never deceived that the boy looked distressed; depressed. His hand would clutch on the hem of his shirt. Sadly, it was all he could do.

There was going to be that day. There was going to be that day. That day.

Luhan knew. He knew that day, yet, his mind forced itself to erase the thoughts of that day. Instead, it was filled with nothing but false, desperate hope with the image of a beaten, stitched up heart. Luhan knew. He knew.

His finger played gracefully with the brown hair that he loved touching so. The smell was intoxicating. Alluring. Seductive. It was a smell that it belonged to only one person. That one person that meant the world to him. That one person that was a synonym to a god, as he was simply divine and carefully crafted by the hands of an angel. He planted a kiss on said god’s scalp, inhaling the heavenly scent that fluttered his heart.

The boy whose head was comfortably resting on the latter’s lap let out a chuckle, voice deep that had such texture that made it one in a million. The boy whose hair was chocolate brown with eyes as black as the night sky, hollow and seemingly soulless, yet filled with such powerful emotion that even Luhan couldn’t explain. Love, he knew. It was love, kindness, sincerity, grace. Worry, passion, magnanimity.

Each day Sehun managed to make Luhan wonder. Wonder how a boy could have such looks, switching from an icy glare to a warm, serene smile. Each day, he baffled him.
