Apotheosis
Description
Once upon a time there was an ancient god, a timeless priest, and an curious archaeologist.
This is their story.
Foreword
How long has it been? I don't know. I stopped counting the days a long time ago.
O Domine Temporis.
I pray for hours in this place of solitude, wondering when the day will come that I will turn into naught but dust and be blown away by the sands of time. I do not long for death, nor do I fear it, but I do long to leave this earth and finally join my brethren in heaven, and that's what makes me different, I suppose.
Exsolvite me hunc disputationi carcerem.
All I wish is that I had someone to keep me company; someone to fill in the spaces between the stumbling blocks in my life where I've staggered through bitterness and loneliness on my own, because maybe then this eternity I hold in my hands would look a little less daunting. But that is not something that will ever happen, for I have been abandoned, just as my god and my temple were.
Deprecor te etiam.
I am alone.
Amen.
