An uneasy feeling settled over the busy city of Seoul. It was barely midnight, but the vendors were already packing up. It wasn’t safe to be out at night anymore.

People looked over their shoulders as they walked down the solitary roads to their homes. Parents called their teenage children more frequently, demanding to know their whereabouts. Doors were securely fastened and double checked every night.

There were several cases of citizens being mauled to death. It seemed like there was a wild animal on the loose which preyed on unsuspecting victims, shielded by the shadows of the night. The victims would have their necks ripped out and organs torn open. Some were attacked so viciously that their faces were unrecognizable.

The attacks happened at random. There could be two attacks in a week, or there could be a month passing without any attacks. The police were trying their hardest to name a suspect, notice a pattern or get clues as to what exactly was the animal was. There was a growing unhappiness among the public as they turned to the authorities who were just as clueless as them. Nobody was safe.
