The Diamonds

Description

"But mom! I don't want to go to school!" Tiffany groaned and leaned forward in her chair to look her mom in the eye. "All the students do is act stupid and try to be my friend." Luna tilted her head at her twin, confused.

"What's wrong with having them as your friend? Everyone there is so nice" Luna replied gently, waiting for her sisters response.

Tiffany sighed, closing her eyes to hold her annoyance back. "Exactly. They just want to be friends with us because we're wealthy. We're better then them." Her words caused Luna to grit her teeth. Normally, she could deal with her sister's snobiness, but not today. Without even bothering to respond, she stood up, giving her sister a glance before gracefully leaving the room.

Tiffany sighed, picking at her nails bitterly. She used to wish her sister was like her, that she understood how powerful they were.  They're princesses for goodness sake! But no.. She doesn't even care, all she cares about is charity and cleaning. A small part of her even hated her. Why were they so different? Tiffany shrugged to herself, and with a sigh she got up and walked out of the room to her mother. She didn't really want to, but she needed a new dress for her date with Kris. She needed to look her best so that he would fall for her. 'Not that I even need to do that, all I need is for him to see my smile and he'll fall right in love' she thought with a smirk.

"Mother? Are you in here?" Tiffany asked with a fake smile on her face. She heard a faint whisper inside the room, causing the smile to fall away. A sigh escaped her lips. It was probably her parents talking about her again.

She carefully opened the door, mentally thanking the person who made this room. It was perfect for spying on someone. Good thing it wasn't hers.

Tiptoeing her way inside the room, the muffled whispers became words. "What are we going to do with her Daniel? The people with never become fond of her!" The words came from her mother, Queen Boa.

She heard a loud masculine sigh and knew her father was going to side with her. She smiled, a real one this time. Tiffany could always count on her father to defend her. "Honey, there's nothing wrong with her. She's just a regular teenage girl. Why is it so hard to accept your own daughter?"

Tiffany took a step back when she heard a chair screeching. She left the room silently with a smirk. Once again, her father had won the argument for her. Now lets just hope he can win her over when it comes time to choose the queen...

Luna smiled brightly at the children staring up at her. She was currently sitting in a small, worn chair in the royal library. It was Thursday, which meant it was her job to volunteer for reading time. She looked down at the fairy tale in her hands, pushing some of her golden blonde hair out of her eyes. Luna knew it wasn't really the sweetest story, but the children insisted on hearing it. With a small sigh, she opened the book and started to read:

The townspeople looked up at their enemy scornfully. He's quite a looker, with smooth black hair and mysterious brown eyes that analyze your every move, but right now they are looking at him like he is a hideous monster... And I guess you can say he is. The prince pressed his full lips into a thin line, scanning the area for any one who could be his target.

Boa bit her lip and looked around anxiously. Today was one of the many days that prince Daniel of Sonyodae was coming to pick a beautiful maiden. He was just past 20, which meant he needed a wife soon. Boa shrugged, continuing her previous business of washing clothes. She hummed quietly to herself for a few moments until she heard the sound of hooves thumping against soft grass. She looked up, secretly crossing her fingers and hoping it wasn't him. Sadly, her wishes weren't granted, as she saw him look down at her with a victorious smile. "I want you to be the queen of Sonyodae. Come with me." With a quiet yelp, she was pulled onto his horse an-

Luna never got to finish her sentence because a louder voice interrupted her.

"Excuse me.. But reading time is over for the kids." The words came from a male.

Luna looked up and couldn't help but gape at his beauty.  Bonds hair that seemed to shine in the dim morning light. Mysterious brown eyes that were covered by a fierce expression. She stood up, and could immediately tell that he was tall, taller than most other people in the town.

Her admiring gaze was broken when he spoke, and her eyes traveled down to his lips. Jeez.. Even his lips are pretty. She thought as he spoke.

"Excuse me?" He suddenly broke into a kind smile, which suprised Luna. "I said reading time is over, you can leave now your highness"

A light blush spread to her cheeks, she always felt flustered when people addressed her like that. "Don't call me that. Just call me Luna." She smiled brightly, an attempt to hide her red cheeks from him. She held out her hand, waiting patiently for him to respond.

"O-oh, okay. My name is Kris" he took Luna's hand and shook it. Causing her blush to darken.

She nodded and muttered "well Kris, I should probably get going now. Lots to do.."

Without a word she walked briskly past the confused boy and to the castle.

"Tiffany! I have something great to tell you!" Tiffany sighed and looked up from the dresses that were currently laying spread out on her luxurious bed.

"What?" That one word should have made Luna turn the other way, but in spite of herself, she kept running towards her sister.

"I met a boy! He's really nice.. Ad I'm considering asking him to dinner" Luna blurted out. Tiffany's eyes widened. Her sister was usually too busy for boys, so it was kind of a shock to hear that she was interested in a boy.

Along with shock, she also felt other emotions: anxiety, and a little bit of anger. You can't be a queen without a prince.. And if Luna has someone, Tiffany's chances of becoming queen lower. After thinking for a moment, she reassured herself.

It doesn't matter, who would like her? It will probably just be a one sided crush. A sigh escaped her lips. Tiffany knew she was right, but she still worried.

She felt a hand move in front of her and looked up to see Luna right in front of her. "Hello..? Are you listening Tiffany?" Luna asked

She nodded bitterly and forced a smile onto her face. "So.. Tell me more about this guy sis."

Luna smiled brightly, eager to tell her twin about the pretty boy she just met. "Well... He's really cute. He has kind of long blonde hair, like mine. And his eyes are almost the same color as yours Tiff, they're really pretty. And he has this fierce expression.." Luna trailed off, and Tiffany didn't bother to listen. She furrowed her eyebrows, he kind of sounds like Kris.. But it wouldn't be him right? There's a lot of other guys like that in town.. She thought.

"Wait.. Luna. What is his name?" Tiffany watched her sister take a deep breath, slightly confused. She waiting anxiously for the answer' hoping her suspicions were wrong,

"Oh.. His name is Kris"

Chapter 2

Tiffany angrily gnawed on the inside of her cheek, not even bothering to admire herself in the dress. It was 7:45, only minutes before Kris would be knocking on the castle door for her.

She sighed and tried to relax, pushing the unneeded anger out of her system. We knew it wasn't Luna's fault that she liked him. Or that he's attractive.

Now that she could actually think, she was finally able to see how pretty she looked, and she wasn't afraid to say it. Tiffany has always been over-confident. Her chocolate brown eyes scanned the pink dress that hugged her perfectly. She moved her dark red hair around, perfecting the shiny waves. With a sigh, she slipped into her sparkling black shoes.

(at the date because you cant think of what to write right now for that ^)

Tiffany cleared and took a long look around the plush cottage. The smell of cinnamon and apples filled her nose as she quietly cringed at the decor of the house.

(Luna's POV.... just you cant think of what to write for the date right now ----> )

Luna bit her lip and frowned. She couldn't get Tiffany's reaction out of her mind. After Luna had told her about Kris.. she seemed angry. Really angry.

With a confused sigh, Luna walked out of her room, her elegant glass heels clicking and clacking on the marble floor below her. 'I'm going to go talk to mom and dad. Maybe they can help me?' As she made her way to her mothers chambers, she began to think about Tiffany and her strange behaviour lately. Well, its not really new actually
