Foreword

"Such a beautiful day," she says. He walks whistling by her side, and she hums softly along - a melody that they heard last night in the bar on the piano, and now is flapping in their head like a butterfly in the jam jar. Her hand is firmly in his, which is so large that it completely disappears in it, and when you see them like that you can almost think she is a little girl. But she is not. She is the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, ever touched, had ever smelled. She has the softest skin. When he tells her that...

"You are so beautiful... the most beautiful person I have ever seen."
...she smiles, and although she has certainly heard it a dozen times this morning,
she doesn't get bored.

"Hope you will never get bored to hear this, because I will never stop saying it"

She shakes her head. On the contrary. With each compliment she exudes a bit more.

He looks at her, how the sun shines on her black hair and brings it to a full light, as if she is an angel. Hand in hand they cross the meadow and hear the happy noise of children, which the wind carries over from the nearby playground.

Out of nowhere a stick lands directly in front of her feet, and she pushes a silent scream. But then she starts to laugh, and he teases her because she is so jumpy.

"Are you scared, little baby?"

Slightly embarrassed, she lets her head on his shoulder to rest for a moment, and the scent of her shampoo increases his nose. Water lily.

"Urgh, I can be so silly sometimes..."
"No, you are the least silly woman I have ever seen, ever touched, ever smelled..."

And again she smiles hearing his compliments

At that moment a dog runs up to them, a big golden Labrador, as clumsy as if his paws didn't belong to him or as if he had way too big shoes on. He throws himself on the stick, takes him into his mouth, immediately turns around and rushes back into the direction from where he came. They turn around and look after him as he runs back to his master. Eagerly, dutifully. The dog owner apologetically waves over to them. "No problem," she exclaims. "Such a beautiful day today, isn't it?" she adds and the man agrees. Everyone is the same opinion.

Slowly they continue to walk. The air is filled with July - Fragrances, it is green and blooming, and his nose begins to itch. She knows that he has hay fever, and although he  didn't sneezed even once today, she quickly hands him a handkerchief in his hand. She knows him too well. He takes the white handkerchief embroidered with pink initials, a gift from her mother.

He softly touches her cheek as he takes it. After he cleans his nose, he gives it back to her with great playful gesture. "Thank you madame."
She laughs again.
The laugh lines around reminds him of the little waves that propagate on a lake when you throw a stone.
Soft. Flowing. Naturally. Wonderful.

And if he could have choose one moment and live forever in it, it would be this one moment. Standing under this tree, with the person he loves the most. Seeing her perfect smile, touching her hand, watching her long hair dance with the wind. If he could stop the time, he would do it right now.
