Before the Butterfly

Tiffany is Princess, Hwang Miyoung is Queen.

Her face is young and it’s colored so brightly.

White skin, pink lips and yet she smiles so tightly.

Is that smile she gives something that just might not be?

Are those eyes painting a picture people can’t see?

It could be.

But I guess we’ll never know.

We’ll never see the grand plays this girl has for a show.

She’s not some tragic Juliette, it’s not for Romeo.

It’s really those unspoken words she’s dying to let go.

But she can’t, and she won’t.

You see, she’s not allowed to.

She has a perfect family, international “I love you’s”.

There’s no one there, no one tells her welcome home.

She doesn't even bother, there’s no message on her phone.

The walls scream liar when they look so pink in glee,

But she won’t hear them; she just wants to reach her dream.

Oh so silent in her mind while the turmoil is in her heart.

There’s that script she cannot memorize, not yet can she play her part.

There’s that voice when she sings

It sounds like a perfect harmony.

A duo between airy laughs and nights spent with her agony.

That agony.

That tingling in the depths of her brain;

That sting she can’t ignore when it reminds her she’s in pain.

This girl is lonely,

She’s sad.

But admitting “ isn't fair”

This girl stood up,

Packed her bags

And flew long across the air.

Mommy’s gone, so far away, but this is her deep secret.

Daddy worries for his child. Yes, she knows it.

She sees it.

And yet she finds the strength to keep her chin high with a smile.

So even if her plans don’t work we’ll see it for a while.

Because she’s not the princess, this isn't Tiffany.

This is the broken child Miyoung.

This is our Happy Queen.

Chapter 1: Good job. The lines flow well and the pacing was good. I like the idea too.
