Thinking Of You

Lost and Found

The party had long past ended and Junhyung was laying on his bed after a long relaxing shower. He lay on his bed with his arms tucked behind his head staring at the ceiling. He was going over the events of the evening, all thoughts led to her. The smiles, the glances, the feeling he had when he saw her speaking to another man, the short conversation they had, and above all things the kiss that they shared. That kiss, by far had to be one of the best experiences of his life. Junhyung wasn't a stranger to physical interactions with the opposite . None of them meant anything to him, just passing whims. Why was he so affected by this kiss? Why did Hyuna respond the way she did? Why did it hurt him to hear her apologize afterward? Why did she even kiss him, if she was only going to be sorry about it? All this thinking was driving him insane.

Just then he remembered the napkin she wrote her number on. He quickly jumped off his bed to remove the napkin from his trouser pocket. He walked back over to his bed with the napkin still in hand, grabbed his phone from his nightstand and repositioned himself on the bed. He unlocked the screen and saved her number into his phone, he smiled grateful he had it. He then frowned remembering how she ran from him. He sat up slightly and ran a hand through his hair, sighed deeply and turned his head toward the direction of his digital alarm clock. It was midnight. Was she asleep? If she was awake what was she doing right now? Did she get home safely? When he finally left the terrace and returned to the party, she was already gone. He looked again at his phone and sighed.

Hyuna was quiet the whole ride home, her parents worried because she had wanted to leave the event early, stating that she didn't feel very well. Her parents wanted to call the doctor, but Hyuna said that she would feel better after getting some rest. She suggested having their chauffeur take her home so they could enjoy the rest of the party, but her parents insisted on going home with her. She excused herself to her room upon their arrival, kissing both her parents on the cheek and apologizing for their early return and wishing them goodnight. They told her not to worry too much about it and to rest well. She walked up the stairs, went straight to her bathroom to shower and walked lazily to her purse to remove her phone and placed it on her nightstand. She drew back the covers and tucked herself comfortably in the bed. She closed her eyes desperately wanting to sleep. She kept them closed trying to force herself into slumber.

It was no use, the whole while the scene of her shamelessly kissing Junhyung flashed through her mind. After being introduced to Junhyung her parents had warned her of what the Yong's thought of them. They wanted her to be well informed on the situation. Their family had been her families' rival in business for years, of course they want her to be friendly and don't discourage her from being so, but they want her to be well aware of the situation at hand. She was warned, and here she was kissing the enemy. But the moment she saw the loneliness in his eyes, and learned that he knew nothing of love, or how it even felt to be loved, that was her undoing. It broke down any hopes she had of guarding herself from getting too close to him. That feeling of sadness drew her into him.

Frustrated, she slammed her fists into her bed, and grunted. She rolled onto her back from her previous side laying position and threw her arms above her head and just stared at the ceiling, trying to clear her mind of all of these thoughts. She wasn't going to get any sleep at this rate. All of a sudden she heard the tone from her phone notifying her that she had received a text message. She sprung into a sitting position and stared awkwardly at her phone. She looked at her clock , it was ten minutes pass midnight, who would be texting her at this time of night? She grabbed her phone from the nightstand and unlocked the screen, and proceeded to opening her inbox. She eyes grew wide when she opened the unread message. It read:

'Hyuna, it's me, Junhyung. I apologize for texting you so late, I hope I didn't wake you. I couldn't sleep, and I really wanted to talk to you. You may not want to talk to me, but I really hope you respond.'

Without realizing it, Hyuna was smiling. She couldn't believe that he would actually contact her, usually it is a waiting game to see how long a man will contact a woman upon receiving her number. But there in front of her eyes was a text from Junhyung! She reread the message again. She was so excited the first time reading it that she hadn't noticed what he had said about her not wanting to talk to him. Just then it hit her, she wasn't supposed to be this happy. Her parents encouraged her to be friendly, but not to get too close for her own sake.

Her parents weren't as strict as Junhyung's parents. Their companies may be rivals, but that doesn't mean that they had to behave rudely. Business was business. The Yong's were different, they were ruthless when it came to business, but with all differences aside their companies stood on equal grounds, both equal in the power that they held.

Could Hyuna just be friends with Junhyung? Friends don't share the glances they shared. Friends don't get that excited over receiving a simple text. Most importantly friends don't kiss each other with the passion that was involved in that kiss. Does she have the strength or willpower to only be his friend? The thought alone terrified Hyuna. She thought back to the loneliness that she saw in his eyes tonight. Did she want to be yet another person to cast him aside? That thought broke her heart. She bit her bottom lip and debated whether or not to respond. She thought long and hard before lifting her phone to start texting him back.

You didn't wake me up, I couldn't sleep either. I'm sorry for my actions tonight, I must have shocked you.”

Junhyung was still laying on his bed with his phone in hand, and was shocked to see that she had responded. A smile crept onto his face, then he opened the message. Quickly responding back.

I told you before, there is no need to apologize.”

A moment later there was another response:

It was very inappropriate, I shouldn't have done it. I feel ashamed with myself for acting before thinking. I think it would be better if we just forgot it.”

Junhyung didn't like where this was heading. How could she just want to forget it? He didn't even think that would be possible. Here she is wanting to say she wants to forget it?

Hyuna, what if I were to say I don't want to forget it?”

After reading his latest response she pursed her lips and tried to keep the tears that were forming in her eyes from falling. She didn't respond. Minutes had gone by, after ten minutes had passed she received another text:

Hyuna, please talk to me. What did I do wrong?”

The tears successfully broke through and began slowly rolling down her cheeks. She felt guilty, because of her he now thought he did something wrong. He didn't do anything wrong, it was all her fault.

You've done nothing wrong Junhyung-shi, it's late. We should try to get some rest.”

With that she tried to dismiss the conversation. She didn't have the strength to continue this tonight.

I refuse to sleep until you agree to meet me tomorrow, 10AM at the cafe on XXXXXX St.”

She lifted her phone and couldn't help but giggle at his charming 'threat'. 'Oh my this boy is persistent, but I need sleep.' she thought to herself. She couldn't help but giggle to what she was typing in response:

Fine, but if you are so much as a minute late I'm going to leave after purchasing everything in that shop and charging it to your tab.”

Junhyung chuckled at her adorable 'threat'. Why would she make such a threat knowing perfectly well that both of them are rich? But then again that's what he found so amusing about it.

I wont be late! Goodnight Hyuna, I'll see you tomorrow. Oh and just call me Junhyung, no need for formalities.”

Goodnight Junhyung, sweet dreams.”
