Saved by a fireman
I’m trapped.
I’m seriously trapped.
I have been working in this office for the past 2 years and I have no idea where I’m crawling to. I’m trying to stay calm and head to the fire exit.
The smoke is getting thicker and I’m choking. I can’t see clearly and I’m coughing out of control.
I can hear the siren from the fire truck. I heard people screaming and the sound of scrambling feet earlier on but all I can hear now is the sound of the fire, devouring whatever it can reach.
I’m gonna die. I’m dying, I’m dying, I’m dying. I’m too young to die. I have not had my first kiss. How does it feel like to be burned alive? I have low pain tolerance and the mere thought of it send chills down my spine. My palms are sweaty and I’m having cold sweats.
There is a door in front of me. I crawl as fast as I can and turn the doorknob furiously but it seems to be locked from the other side. Another dead end.
I lean my back on the door. Feeling defeated, I allow my body to slide down till my bum touches the floor. I curl up so that my knees are touching my forehead. I try to block everything. I can’t. Tears begin to pool in my eyes. It’s getting hotter now. I just wish that –
“Is there anyone here?”
I perk up upon hearing someone’s voice.
“Is there anyone here?”
He repeats.
“Here! Help!”
I wait for a reply but I didn’t get any. My heart is beating wildly and seconds feel like hours. Suddenly, I hear footsteps
