“I’ve looked through your results and I must say I’m amazed-“

That lady you see there is me; Jang Hyesu. I’m currently a lecturer in H University. Age 26 and the youngest among all of my colleagues. My life was pretty much a routine but I have no complains so far. Meeting students everyday and educating them seems like I've got a lot on my plate.

But what kept bothering me these days are the topics that kept reappearing whenever I hang out with my colleagues. It will always be that one question.

'When are you getting married?'

“Hyesu ah, you’re just the right age to get married. Did you have a boyfriend yet?” Emily asked as she leaned forward with curiosity.

I blinked. “Not particularly. No,” I answered bluntly, chewing my fries one by one.

She looked disappointed and pulled back to her seat. Her brunette hair falls gently on her shoulder as she sighed. Emily is one of my closest colleagues I've got ever since I became a lecturer here. She's canadian, a married woman with 3 children. She would always worry about me and my social life. Just like my mom. “I wish you would consider the guy that I talked about. You’ll end up alone for the rest of your life if you keep rejecting guys like this.”

“It’s not like I want too but I can’t really find someone that clicks or even close to my type-“

“You don’t need someone of your type. The opposite works too,” she winked.

I looked away. “Nah, I’ll pass this time.”

 “Just please promise me you won’t die alone," she pleaded and I can't believe she is serious.

I chuckled. “That, I can promise,” I said to her and both of us said our goodbyes as I have to get ready for my class.

I reached my room and started searching for the chemistry notes that I borrowed from the lab but I can’t seem to find it anywhere. I rummaged around the table and I bit my lips. Maybe I left it back in the lab.

As I passed the hallway, I observed the surroundings and saw some students passing by, some with partners. I sighed and rubbed the back of my neck. Talking to Emily makes me conscious about this stuff. Better stop thinking about it.

I reached the lab and twisted the knob. “Sung ja ah-“ I called out the assistant lab.

My jaw dropped and my eyes went wide as I stumbled upon a uncomfortable scene right in front of me.

Sung ja was there alright. But her hands were on someone’s bear chest, a college kid whose plaid shirt was now way down to his waist, revealing his white milky skin.
