Chosen

Description

In every generation, there is the Slayer. One girl - or in this case, boy - in all the world with the strength and skill to hunt vampires, demons, and the forces of darkness. Heechul doesn't care; he wants a normal life. His new Watcher, Siwon, won't leave him alone; his roommate, Donghae, is getting suspicious; and that really hot Chinese guy he keeps seeing lurking around won't stop being cryptic. Sacred duties aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Foreword

Heechul made it two months into his first semester of college before the Watchers' Council tracked him down.

"I'm your new Watcher," the pompous looking man in front of him announced, a stack of thick books with titles like "VAMPYRE" and "Mating Rituals of Stygian Demons" cradled in his arms. Heechul tried really hard not to roll his eyes - really, he did - but in the end it was a lost cause.

"Well you certainly tracked me down faster than I expected," he drawled, casually inspecting his nails. "I told your employers four months ago that I quit. If you don't mind, I have a lecture to get to and I'm running late," Heechul pushed past the man who was supposed to be his new Watcher and continued on his way. To his dismay, the man continued to follow him.

"You can't just quit, it's a- it's a sacred duty you have and- could you please slow down?" he snapped. Heechul paused and looked at him, one eyebrow raised. The taller man sighed and adjusted the books he held in his arms to ruffle his hair. Really, Heechul mused, it was a shame he worked for the Watchers' Council. He was rather attractive; not necessarily Heechul's type, but someone he wouldn't mind having to spend time looking at for sure. "Look, I think we should back up and introduce ourselves properly. I think we got off on the wrong foot. I'm Choi Siwon, and I've been sent by the Watchers' Council to guide you." Siwon looked inordinately pleased at managing to get all that out wiithout Heechul storming off.

"That's nice, Choi Siwon," Heechul said. "But I quit, and aren't you a little young for this job anyway?" He glanced at his watch and yelped. "Oh , I'm really late now! Thanks for that," he snapped. With that, he spun on his heel and continued on his way, leaving the Watcher sputtering and at a loss for what to do about his new charge.

"No one told me he was this difficult," Siwon muttered under his breath before trotting off to the library. He'd have to find Heechul later; clearly the Slayer wasn't going to be receptive right now.

----------------------------

I'm really sick of all the Hanchul angst, and I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not that there won't be angst in this, but it's not going to be all doom and gloom 100% of the time. I've been playing around with this idea in my head for awhile, so we'll see how it goes!
