The Weeping Statue

Description

Everyone knows the legend of the Weeping Statue.

He sits in Namsan Park surrounded by a pool of tears, his own tears, or so the legend says.

He watches seconds turn into minutes, minutes into hours, hours into days, and days into dust.

He witnesses friends becoming lovers. He observes lovers parting as strangers.

It is his curse, to sit here and bear witness to millions of bashful “hellos” and painful “goodbyes”.

And now he begs you to listen, listen to the tale of a soul split in two that found one another again, listen to their struggle, listen as he weeps for these souls.

 

Foreword

Hello, this is my entry for the first subround of The Sky is The Limit Writing Contest's March Madness round.

The prompt I was given: "No one feels another's grief, no one understands another's joy. People imagine they can reach one another. In reality, they only pass each other by." - Franz Schubert

 

I hope you guys enjoy this monster I have written. Be prepared because huskylover200 is being deep and drawing from her philisophical side with this story, it ain't no flluffy romance. /shot/

Chapter 1: I've been trying to escape my Xiuhan obsessions recently, but reading these angsty stories just drag me back in the ship. :'(

Chapter 1: though they didn't stick together until the end im quite happy none of them died cuz i was skimming through the comments and found out it wasn't happy ending so i assumed perhaps one of them died hehehehe..you could always make a sequel though i would be more than happy to read...:D

Chapter 1: this is really sad and a lil bit different from your crack fics.. what i like about this is the way the story ended. how you ended this is different from the rest. the way the fall out of love is really realistic like what usually happens in life. its just sad because its xiuhan. ;;; and they didn't get a happy ending ;;; but nevertheless, this is really a good fic!!!

Chapter 1: I feel like I wanna throw my phone after read this story. This is beautiful, though they aren't stick together.. And this story can stir my feels. Fluff, then hurt comfort.

Chapter 1: oh my god this was... so breathtaking... and i am weeping, and my heart it's broken in half

i love you, i love you for writing xiuhan even if they didn't end up together in the end... still was perfect and beautifully sad

you know, i wish oyu write more if this, with others couples maybe... or i don't know, a sequel of xiuhan? [just, asking 'cuz seriouys there is not enough xiuhan, and i am so in love of those two T_T]

so, i wish you the best with the contest, oyu REALLY deserve it!!!!

Omg the plot was really amazing and the way you wrote it was different from other stories I've previously read. I think it's really sad and touching how the statue is always there to witness others' joys and heartbreaks but he himself can't do anything about them. I really love all your stories, you are a wonderful author <3
