This is a story about books and how it brought individuals together. One is a writer, another is a lover. Someone is an observer, a person is merely a name. Their tale is hidden between lines, surrounded by patterns of words and grammar. Plots weave together their tragedies and pages contain their comedies. Each tale completes the other. This is not a story of Romeo or Juliet, not of Julius, Brutus and Marc Anthony. It is not a Christmas carol or the adventures of Huckleberry Finn. It does not whisper words of little men and little women, no sense and sensibility or pride and prejudice. Their love is their age of innocence and not gone with the wind, a tale of two cities that brings people together.
This is a story of people who find comfort in the smell of ink on parchment. A story of every one of us who seek solace in the creases of the spine, hide smiles with dog ears and cry with weathered covers. This is a story of all of us who close our eyes with a smile after the last page, heart content and bursting with excitement.
This is a story of them who wish upon chapter introductions and page numbers.
They say we all find love in unexpected places but for these people, love is reaching for the same book at the same time.
Foreword
Hey, this is my...fifth story and main characters are from EXO. It's not entirely a love story but more of a journey about books because I love books and I currently have 8 new unread ones to be added to my...uh, I dunno how many. Anyway, I had this idea after buying those 8 new books in a bookstore I love so much that's about 5 minutes away from my university.
I noticed that fewer and fewer number of people come in there, mostly people older than me and I can't help but notice that the younger ones who enter only care about the manga/manhwa and magazines part of the bookstore and no one really goes to the real books section (save for me and some few old people). Stacks and stacks of good books can be found there, books that I think are better than Harry Potter or Twilight or whatever is best-selling now and all those good books just lay there untouched. Just today, I found a new section that I didn't see before (and I've been going there for what....4-5 years now?) several books about old China and old Japan and the Middle East and I was itching to open them all and buy but my wallet is screaming already for me to stop.
So yeah, I wish this fanfiction will urge you people to go out and read real books and find knowledge and get inspiration.
