Two old friends unite after five years. There are no stars in the city's polluted skies. Only neon lights and thoughts about alternate universes filled with starry skies.

 

 

A/N - Written while I was high on green apple ice cream. Lol XD Also the OC has two names. Jia is her real name while Lian is her pen name. Just like Yixing and Lay.

Based off on the song Neon by John Mayer and Drops Of Jupiter by Train. Between these three things, I have enough inspiration to last a lifetime!

Chapter 2: I really love how you've used the neon lights both as imagery as well as symbolism in the fic. It gives the fic a whole new feel. I could slap both your characters (because I agree with your rant). But I love the simple conversation and the language. It literally made me feel like I was sitting at the noodle shop and watching the two talk to each other. Its awesome :)

Chapter 1: I dont really get the relation between neon lights and their relationship, but i guess it's because i'm kinda slow, lol.. I like the idea though, it's different in a good way and quite unique. i just think that the neon lights show the changes of the world and their condition, hoho

And then the sign burned out -sigh-

I like the Lay-Lian Yixing-Jia thing the concept is pretty cool and apt. I am not good at picking up imagery and reading between the lines so while I was kinda aware that the neon lights had to mean something I didn't know what it was and wasn't trying to find out what it was. Now that I know what the neon lights mean I like the story more.

BTW I like the atmosphere on the streets with neon lights and the smells of food and the night sky very much.:D I only got to experience it a few times in Taiwan and Hong Kong.
